iZotope has licensed multiple audio processing technologies for inclusion in the new Adobe Premiere Pro CC, the video production component of Adobe Creative Cloud.

The industry-leading, cross-platform video editor now features a suite of audio effects including convolution reverb, vocal enhancer, mastering tools, single and multiband compressors, and other audio technologies.

iZotope releases Iris+7 Bundle including Altered & Modular sound libraries + 30% off everything Iris

iZotope has released two new sound libraries for Iris, the ground-breaking visual synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.

  • Altered, the first of two new instrument-based sound libraries for Iris, reimagines familiar musical instruments like piano, guitar, and bass by uncovering unconventional timbres through bowing, scraping, bending, and more. Altered includes over 300 new samples such as Plastic Rod on Harp, Piano Strings Resonant Spoon, and Didgeridoo Into Fan, and 200 professionally-designed patches like Spectral Bubble, Dub Trombone, and Visual Karate.
  • Modular, the second new library, is based on samples created from new and vintage modular synths. Ranging from pulsing tones and lush effects to glitchy syncopations and Cartesian sequencing, Modular is designed to harness varied sonic palettes into musical patches for any project. Modular features over 600 samples including Growler Bass, Butterfly Chaos, and FunkBot Pulse, and 300 patches like Metal Sloths, Zaptastic, Murky Glitch, and Ghost Mallets.

Sample Remix Contest 2013/03 – The Results

March 2013 Sample Remix Contest

Last week the sample remix contest deadline passed and all 58 contestants have had a week to check out the entries and submit their top 5 favorites.

The results are in and it’s time to distribute the prizes, kindly offered by our friends at Time+Space.

First place goes to Francis Red for the track “Tropology”, a quality production with a catchy melody. This was a clear win, with both the highest amount of votes and points, as well as the most #1 votes.

In second place is Noizefield with “Level Up”, demonstrating some next level sample processing skills.

Third place winner is “Alien Love” by SatYatunes, a beautiful downtempo atmospheric piece.

The 4th winner – picked by random.org – is Robert Fletcher with his entry Welcome Laughter.

Congratulations to the winners! It was a pretty close race for the top 10, which included the tracks by Marcin Chicy, Solidtrax, König, DavidF, Sayonara Gaia, Alex Nekita, Carbone and Crystal Craft.

All winners will soon receive details on how to get one of the available prizes: Toontrack’s Superior Drummer + 1 SDX expansion, a bundle of iZotope Ozone 5, Stutter Edit & Trash 2, UVI’s Vintage Legends, and Synthogy Ivory Pianos II Grand Pianos.

iZotope has announced it has licensed its MBIT+ Dither for integration into Steinberg Media Technologies’ WaveLab 8, a versatile audio editing and mastering suite.

Steinberg announces WaveLab 8 audio editing and mastering software

Steinberg has announced the upcoming release of its highly acclaimed audio editing and mastering suite, WaveLab 8, alongside the smaller derivative, WaveLab Elements 8.

WaveLab 8 features a brand-new speaker management system, loudness metering and processing, single-window plug-in management, a master control panel, iZotope’s MBIT+ master dither, Voxengo’s CurveEQ, brickwall limiter and tube compressor, SuperClips, metadata support and over 150 improvements to its user interface and comprehensive tool set.

“The eighth generation of WaveLab clearly shows that we continue to invest in providing the highest level of quality, reflected in the wealth of enhancements to existing features while bringing new, advanced mastering and restoration tools by Steinberg, iZotope, Voxengo and Sonnox to mastering studios around the world,” said Timo Wildenhain, product marketing manager at Steinberg. “I think it’s safe to say that WaveLab is the number-one mastering software for Mac and PC on the market today.”

WaveLab 8 introduces a new speaker management system to its many indispensable features, providing maximum flexibility with up to eight-loudspeaker configurations.

Observing EBU R-128 compliance, WaveLab includes loudness metering for momentary, short-term and integrated values, true peak support and enhanced loudness and batch processing tools that meet EBU standards.

With the MBIT+ master dither developed by the engineers at iZotope, WaveLab now features a sophisticated set of word-length reduction algorithms for dithering and noise shaping. The second plug-in highlight is Voxengo’s linear-phase spline equalizer, CurveEQ, which matches and transfers a spectrum’s shape from one recording to another. More plug-ins newly introduced to WaveLab 8 are Steinberg’s Brickwall Limiter and Tube Compressor for extra punch and rich tone.

Workflow improvements see a polished user interface for easy operation, a brand-new master transport panel to expedite navigating through the project, single-window plug-in management that allows users to sort plug-ins by manufacturer, category or preference. Audio Montage now offers a new Master Plug-in Section for local storing of plug-in chains alongside SuperClip capability to combine multiple clips.

WaveLab 8 delivers professional editing tools that facilitate the audio editing in many ways: volume clip handles with raise selection adjust levels of individual selections conveniently, Track Lock to prevent accidental modifications, new trim and split options, auto-replay, improved processing via key commands and much more.

Many other improvements include extensive metadata support for creating and exposing valuable information on audio files, 16-bit floating-point zoom resolution for precise waveform display, refined marker handling and batch processing plus an overhauled in-app help system.

Steinberg will also be releasing WaveLab Elements 8, a smaller version of WaveLab, with its studio-grade Brickwall Limiter, Tube Compressor, a new transport panel, enhanced editing tools and track effects. AIR Ignite gets iZotope Radius time-stretching & pitch-shifting

iZotope has announced it has licensed Radius to AIR Music Technology for inclusion in the Ignite.

Ignite, a desktop recording and creative software solution, is for musicians looking to capture ideas quickly and easily with M-Audio, Akai Pro and Alesis MIDI keyboard controllers. Radius, a time-stretching and pitch-shifting algorithm, will provide Ignite users with even more control over their creative workflow.

“When we were looking for a time-stretching algorithm for Ignite, iZotope was the first company we thought of because of the pedigree of their technology. Even at extreme tempo changes, the quality of Radius is very high,” says Principal Product Manager Samara Winterfeld of AIR Music Technology. “iZotope worked closely with our development team on ways to optimize the integration, which is also something that is very important to us.”

Ignite features Smart MIDI technology to help jump-start ideas and enhance music-making skills. In addition to hundreds of onboard instruments and extensive MIDI control, Ignite supports two tracks of simultaneous audio recording.
