J1000 has announced the release of its MQ57 parametric equalizer effect plug-in for Windows.
The main difference from other, standard EQs is that MQ57 has all controls and functions optimized for mastering needs, i.e., it has relatively wide Q factors that focus on overall balance rather than narrow cuts and boosts, moderate gain ranges for fine-tuning and functions such as channel balance, spectrum tilting and pass filters.
J1000′s powerful, but easy to use MQ57 equalizer is designed for mastering.MQ57 features
- 7 parametric minimum-phase filters per channel, 5 of them are peak, 2 are shelf.
- Functions and ranges optimized for subtle equalization tasks.
- Stereo and dual-mono operating modes, either Mid/Side or Left/Right.
- High-pass and low-pass, specialized balance and tilt controls.
- 32-bit internal precision with zero latency and low CPU consumption.
- No introduced harmonic or dynamic distortion.
The plug-in is available to download at no cost (Windows/VST).

J1000 has updated its QX24 equalizer/exciter effect plug-in for Windows to version 1.1.
QX24 is one half equalizer, other half exciter. It is authentic design and there are just few other plugins that offer comparable functions without getting too complicated.
Using it properly you’ll be able to accent parts of spectrum where instrument’s character resides making it more prominent, while gently reducing remaining frequencies that often clutter the mix. Sound gets harmonically enhanced mostly with first two harmonics, but if you push it past moderate drive levels it gets much brighter – experiment and find the best way to utilize it.
Changes in QX24 v1.1
- Boost mode which extends drive ranges for both filters for more drastic effect (click on logo).
- Filters’ on/off switches for separate monitoring of each one.
- Real Q factor values.
- New knob design.
QX24 is available to download as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows.

J1000 has updated the PQ33 freeware equalizer effect plug-in to version 1.3.
PQ33 is a freeware VST equalizer based on RND Portico 5033 hardware unit with two additional pass filters. Other than that, it has the same layout of elements, very similar frequency ranges for all filters, same gain operational levels and Q factors. It is intended for use during mixing and tracking, but it can also be used for simple mastering tasks.

- Each of seven filters can be turned off by clicking on its label.
- Switchable slope for low-pass filter between 1st, 2nd and 4th order.
- Real Q factor values instead of relative.
- New shelving filters with more symmetrical knob response for frequency.
- High-shelf filter has two predefined slopes – Q1 and Q2.
- Slightly sharper Q factors for peak filters.
- New knob design and some smaller cosmetic changes.
PQ33 is available to download as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows.
