J1000 releases CH4D free VST chorus effect

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Aug 20, 2014 - comment 0 comments

J1000 has announced the release of CH4D, a free chorus effect plug-in for Windows.

J1000 CH4D

CH4D is a classic chorus effect with four delay taps. All four taps are controlled with single knob and plugin automatically calculates time and amplitude differences. CH4D lets you narrow spectrum with two resonant cut filters.

You don’t have to worry when working with basses or sounds with ultra-precise highs, because it will leave their critical parts intact and process only the midrange.

CH4D features

  • Four delay taps (two per L/R channel).
  • Low-cut and high-cut filters with adjustable resonance (12dB/octave slopes).
  • Advanced LFO that avoids unnatural repetitive modulation.
  • Phase invertion and soloing for wet signal.
  • Continuous dry/wet mix control.
  • Simple output correlation meter.
  • Zero latency and very low CPU consumption.

The plug-in is available as freeware for Windows (VST).

J1000 updates MQ57/MQ55 equalizer & SX36 stereo proccesor plugins

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Jun 03, 2014 - comment 4 comments

J1000 has announced version 1.5 of its MQ57 and MQ55 parametric equalizers, and version 1.1 of the SX36 threeband stereo processor.

J1000 SX36
The SX36 3-band stereo processor separates audio into low, mid and high frequencies, and allows for manipulation of stereo properties.

A lot has been changed after careful reconsideration. New graphics, even more optimized performance, some new functions in place of the old ones, file sizes cut in half, and it’s still all for free!

Changes in MQ57/MQ55/SX36

  • MQ57 now operates only in M/S mode, no more L/R support.
  • Balance/tilt ditched in favor of separate LCF/HCF for each channel.
  • Reduced gain ranges in MQ55 from +-12dB to +-9dB.
  • Corrected Q factors.
  • SX36 now has Haas delay control.
  • New GUIs.
  • Some smaller bug fixes (audible clicks in operation).
  • And a lot more…

J1000 plugins are available for Windows (VST) as freeware.

J1000 releases MQ55 & SX36 plug-ins + MQ57 updated to v1.11

J1000 has announced the release of the MQ55 mixing equalizer and SX36 stereo processor, two free effect plug-in for Windows.

J1000 MQ55
The MQ55 equalizer is based on the MQ57, optimized for mixing.

Parametric mixing equalizer based on MQ57. Most of the functions are the same, except that MQ55 operates only in stereo mode, has more flexible pass filters and has gain ratio that acts like dry/wet control. This is my go-to EQ for music production.

MQ55 features

  • 7 parametric minimum-phase stereo filters, 5 of them are peak, 2 are shelf.
  • Functions and ranges optimized for mixing tasks.
  • HP and LP filters with two selectable slopes (1st & 2nd order for HP, 2nd & 4th for LP filter).
  • Ratio knob that serves as a overall gain multiplier.
  • Possible monitoring for each peak filter.
  • 32-bit internal precision with zero latency and low CPU consumption.
  • No introduced harmonic or dynamic distortion.
J1000 SX36 The SX36 is a three-band stereo processor.

Three-band stereo processor that separates audio into low, mid and high frequencies and lets you manipulate their stereo properties – width and panning or rotation. Crossover points are easily adjusted with single knob. It has simple meters for each range showing correlation or panning. High-pass filter cuts unwanted frequencies on side channel for more stable bass.

SX36 features

  • Three spectrum ranges with identical stereo and gain controls.
  • Choice between rotation and classic panning for each range.
  • First order (6dB/octave) crossover to preserve spectrum fluidity as much as possible.
  • Simple correlation and panning meters with two speeds of operation.
  • Dedicated, auto-monitoring side channel HP filter (12dB/octave).
  • 32-bit internal precision with zero latency and low CPU consumption.

J1000 has also updated the MQ57 equalizer to version 1.11.

Changes in MQ57 v1.11

  • Removed audible clicks on knob resets.
  • LED indicators for filter monitoring.
  • Small GUI redesign.

J1000 plug-ins are available to download as freeware for Windows (VST).

  • Displays also show gain values during knob operation.
  • No clicks when reseting gain knobs.
  • Side channel is temporarily boosted when it’s soloed.
  • Noticeable CPU optimizations.
  • Default Q factor now is 0.7 for peak filters.
  • Small GUI changes.

Optimized equalizer plug-in for mastering: J1000 MQ57

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Jun 05, 2012 - comment 0 comments

J1000 has announced the release of its MQ57 parametric equalizer effect plug-in for Windows.

The main difference from other, standard EQs is that MQ57 has all controls and functions optimized for mastering needs, i.e., it has relatively wide Q factors that focus on overall balance rather than narrow cuts and boosts, moderate gain ranges for fine-tuning and functions such as channel balance, spectrum tilting and pass filters.

J1000 MQ57
J1000′s powerful, but easy to use MQ57 equalizer is designed for mastering.

MQ57 features

  • 7 parametric minimum-phase filters per channel, 5 of them are peak, 2 are shelf.
  • Functions and ranges optimized for subtle equalization tasks.
  • Stereo and dual-mono operating modes, either Mid/Side or Left/Right.
  • High-pass and low-pass, specialized balance and tilt controls.
  • 32-bit internal precision with zero latency and low CPU consumption.
  • No introduced harmonic or dynamic distortion.

The plug-in is available to download at no cost (Windows/VST).

J1000 updates QX24 plug-in to v1.1

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on May 23, 2012 - comment 0 comments

J1000 has updated its QX24 equalizer/exciter effect plug-in for Windows to version 1.1.

J1000 QX24

QX24 is one half equalizer, other half exciter. It is authentic design and there are just few other plugins that offer comparable functions without getting too complicated.

Using it properly you’ll be able to accent parts of spectrum where instrument’s character resides making it more prominent, while gently reducing remaining frequencies that often clutter the mix. Sound gets harmonically enhanced mostly with first two harmonics, but if you push it past moderate drive levels it gets much brighter – experiment and find the best way to utilize it.

Changes in QX24 v1.1

  • Boost mode which extends drive ranges for both filters for more drastic effect (click on logo).
  • Filters’ on/off switches for separate monitoring of each one.
  • Real Q factor values.
  • New knob design.

QX24 is available to download as a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows.

J1000 updates PQ33 parametric equalizer effect plug-in to v1.3

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on May 02, 2012 - comment 1 comment

J1000 has updated the PQ33 freeware equalizer effect plug-in to version 1.3.

PQ33 is a freeware VST equalizer based on RND Portico 5033 hardware unit with two additional pass filters. Other than that, it has the same layout of elements, very similar frequency ranges for all filters, same gain operational levels and Q factors. It is intended for use during mixing and tracking, but it can also be used for simple mastering tasks.

  • Switchable slope for low-pass filter between 1st, 2nd and 4th order.
  • Real Q factor values instead of relative.
  • New shelving filters with more symmetrical knob response for frequency.
  • High-shelf filter has two predefined slopes – Q1 and Q2.
  • Slightly sharper Q factors for peak filters.
  • New knob design and some smaller cosmetic changes.
