Jeremy Evers updates Atlantis to v0.9i

Jeremy Evers Atlantis

Jeremy Evers has released version 0.9i of Atlantis, a freeware synthesizer VSTi and Filter Delay plug-in.

Jeremy writes:

Hani didn’t like the clicking sound the routing engine was making in filters-per-voice mode. So, I fixed it. Now filters in filters-per-voice mode are always running, just like the global filter. You may notice a slightly different decay sound- this is the filter running. Before it would stop running when the envelope decayed, and any resonance would be cut (click) and continue on the next note (click).

Jeremy notes that this will consume more CPU power in polyphonic mode. You can turn the number of voices down, or disable filters-per-voice mode entirely to minimize CPU usage (adjust these settings in the config dialog).

The monophonic and arpeggio modes in Atlantis have been optimized as well.

Jeremy Evers updates Atlantis to v0.9g

Jeremy Evers Atlantis v0.9g

Jeremy Evers has released version 0.9g of Atlantis, a freeware synthesizer VSTi and Filter Delay plug-in.

New in v0.9g

  • Repeatverb and Destroyverb shapers.
  • Pan shaper.
  • Browse button for Data Folder in config dialog.
  • Fixes for waveform save bugs in some hosts (Cubase 3.1.1).
  • Manual updates.

Jeremy writes:

The Repeatverb and Destroyverb are nasty little reverberation algorithms that are based on something I wrote for Jim Redfern to use in one of those demo competitions where you make your program crazy small. They can add some wet depth and weirdness when necessary.

They do use a fair amount of CPU, so I suggest turning Filters-Per-Voice mode off in Atlantis if you are using it with the synthesizer. I also suggest sticking a lowpass filter behind them.

The Pan module is something that Yann suggested and is everything you would expect from a serious panning algorithm. It uses a sine-law, if you care.

Jeremy Evers updates Atlantis to v0.9f

Jeremy Evers has released version 0.9f of Atlantis, a freeware synthesizer VSTi and Filter Delay plug-in.

About Atlantis:

Atlantis features 3 true stereo morphing oscilators, with independant width, phase, spread, chorus, tuning, volume, envelope and panning feed into a pair of filters (with your standard algorithms and a lot of unique new favorites), a shaper (distortions and beyond), and a simple room modelling multitap filtered delay system with another pair of selectable filters. The routing of the filters and shaper can also be switched into a variety of configurations for further flexibility.

Besides standard waveforms you can also import any waveform you like (.wav files) and use them for the oscilators and LFOs. Furthermore, you can control every slider paramets by any modulator. Can you spell unique sounds?

Jeremy Evers Atlantis – nearly unlimited possibilities for creating new and exciting sounds

Changes in Atlantis v0.9f

  • data folder has a selectable home.
  • proper preset and bank support.
  • larger power buttons.

So now you can move the c:\chips folder created in previous versions of Atlantis to a folder of your choice. I hope the preset/bank support will encourage people to create more patches for this great synth.
