MeterPlugs announces AAX support for Pro Tools

MeterPlugs AAX for Pro Tools

MeterPlugs has announced that its audio plugins are now compatible with Pro Tools. The plugins, K-Meter and LCAST Loudness Meter, were previously available in Audio Unit and VST 2.4 formats for Mac and Windows. Now users can download AAX versions of the plugins for use with Pro Tools 10.3.6 or greater. The update is free for existing users.

K-Meter and LCAST help you take loudness and true-peak measurements. K-Meter is built around Bob Katz’s K-System, an integrated metering and monitoring system that helps you target commonly used loudness levels in a variety of genres. It stands in opposition to the hyper-compressed recordings of the loudness wars era. Instead of focusing on maximizing peak levels, K-Meter places emphasis on dynamic range and sensible loudness levels.

LCAST helps you ensure that your audio is broadcast-ready. It is aimed at content creators who need to comply with precise loudness and peak level requirements. It includes presets for North American broadcasters (ATSC A/85), European broadcasters (EBU R128) and more. LCAST features a graphical history view of integrated, short-term and momentary loudness levels. You can pan and zoom the view to isolate areas of interest and make comparisons.

Both plugins are available for Mac and Windows in 32/64-bit Audio Unit, VST 2.4 and AAX formats. K-Meter costs $49 USD, LCAST Stereo is $199 USD and LCAST Surround is $399 USD.

Related: , , , , , , , , , , Posted in news on Sep 12, 2011 - comment 0 comments

Flux has announced the release of Pure Analyzer System, a modular RTA-system providing an extensive range of analyzer options and metering standards, meeting the demands of any imaginable audio analysis and measurement applications within the fields of; Music Production, Audio Mastering, Live/Installation Sound, Broadcast and Post-Production.

The core of Pure Analyzer System is a standalone application presenting an unparalleled interface designed for ultra-rapid reactivity and intuitive instant user-interaction. The graphic analysis rendering is performed using a GPU-efficient OpenGL 2D/3D graphic engine, optimizing the audio to visual experience utilizing the GPU on a standard OpenGL graphics card.

Flux Pure Analyzer System

Full I/O support through ASIO/Core Audio is provided, and for maximum flexibility and efficiency Pure Analyzer System present the option to separate the signal acquisition from the analysis utilizing SampleGrabber, a standard DAW plug-in (available in all common plug-in formats, VST, AU, RTAS as well as TDM for VENUE systems) to acquire the signal in any plug-in host environment and broadcast it through a local area network using the ZeroConf/Apple Bonjour protocol.

The Flux:: Pure Analyzer System presents a vast selection of analysis tools such as; Real-time Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Scope, Phase Meter, Oscilloscope, Real-time Metering History, Real-time and Offline Metering Statistics, furthermore, a wide range of enhanced metering options including the last EBU R128 loudness norm (PLOUD), ITU-R BS.1770, True Peak, K-System and all variants of PPM (BBC, EBU, Nordic etc.). A complete set of tools for System Analysis including; Multi-Channels reference support, Multi-Microphone support, Transfer Function, Coherence, Magnitude, Phase, Impulse Response, Delay Finder, Signal Generator and unlimited Snapshot with auto creation from Sweep and Average, is provided as well.

In addition to the extensive range of standard analysis options, Pure Analyzer System introduce a ground-breaking innovation: Flux:: Nebula Spatial Spectrogram and Surround Scope, presenting a unique representation of the audio material in terms of spectral content and localization in the stereo and/or surround space.

The Flux:: Nebula Spatial Spectrogram combines the functionality of a spectrum analyzer and a vector scope to provide a complete and detailed overview of the mix in order to literally be able to see what you hear and feel. The Flux:: Nebula Surround Scope presents a representation of how a surround signal’s various components are distributed in the surround environment.

The Pure Analyzer System is available for Windows, Mac and AVID VENUE, supporting up to 16 channels (for Multichannel/Surround and Multi-Microphone System Analysis) in up to 384 KHz.

Pricing and availability:

  • Mandatory Base Version
    • Pure Analyzer Essential 279 EUR / 399 USD
  • Add on options (requires Pure Analyzer Essential)
    • Pure Analyzer Metering 149 EUR / 219 USD
    • Pure Analyzer Live 149 EUR / 219 USD
    • Pure Analyzer Multichannel 149 EUR – 219 USD

Audio Pluggers K-Meter, K-System based metering

Audio Pluggers has released a beta of K-Meter, a metering plug-in featuring upsampled peak detection, perceived loudness metering, K-System compatibility, and pink noise monitor calibration.

By using the K-System and K-Meter, audio engineers can ensure that their mixes reproduce accurately on a variety of playback systems, from theaters to MP3 players. K-Meter’s perceived loudness meter models the ear’s sensitivity to different frequencies, giving you a much more accurate indication of loudness than conventional meters. Combine this with the ability to detect inter-sample peaks, and you can be confident that your mixes are of the highest quality.

K-Meter features

  • Built from the ground up around the K-System.
  • Upsampled peak detection that discovers inter-sample peaks missed by other meters (upsamples up to 4x the input rate).
  • Perceived loudness meter supporting the LKFS measurement (ITU-R BS.1770-1). This models the ear’s sensitivity to different frequencies.
  • Band-limited RMS meter for monitor calibration and compatibility with other meters.
  • Pink noise generator for monitor calibration.
  • Resettable clip indicators with sensitivity dial.
  • Collapsible interface that occupies less screen space.
  • All-in-one 32-bit and 64-bit universal binary supporting Intel and PPC Macs.
