LePou Plugins has released a Mac version of its HyBrit amplifier emulation plug-in.

As the name suggests, this is an hybrid amp model based on two famous British gears. Again, the name of the channel says it all. The PLS channel is actually an hybrid of the two (tweaked) channels (Normal and Treble) of the real thing. Both channels are actually processed and the mix of the two signals can be adjusted through the PLS MIX knob. The other channel, MCJ, is also a tweaked version of the real thing. So, this amp simulator doesn’t represent anything specifically but it does have the character of the British amp.

HyBrit is now available for Mac users in both AU and VST formats, free of charge. The new skin is also available in an updated Windows version of HyBrit.

It’s a preamp sim roughly based on a famous German gear. It has 2 channels and 2 modes per channel. Each channels/modes share the same features.

Apart from the usual tone controls (drive, low, mid, high and contour), each channels/modes offer two different tone stacks that can be accessed via the focus switches. Bottom and bright switches can be used to boost the low and the high frequencies respectively. On the low gain channel only (Clean/Crunch), the effectiveness of the bright switch decreases with the gain settings.

Le456 is now available for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) as freeware.

Signals Audio releases God’s Cab 1.3, free IR library

Signals Audio God's Cab

Signals Audio has released version 1.3 of God’s Cab, a free impulse response library.

God’s Cab is a package of high-quality Mesa Oversized Rectifier Cab Impulse Responses (IRs). These can be used to emulate a Mesa OS Rectifier guitar cabinet through software plug-ins.

To use them you will need a plug-in to simulate an amp head, such as LePou’s Lecto, and then you will need a convolution plug-in to load the IR files, such as LePou’s LeCab.

God’s Cab v1.3 features

  • 700+ Mesa OS IRs (.wav).
  • Axe-FX ready files (.syx).
  • 44.1, 48, and 96 khz sample rates.
  • All IRs truncated to 1024 samples (except rooms).
  • Detailed manual.

God’s Cab is available as a free download from Signals Audio.

LePou Plugins LeGion

LePou Plugins has released updates for amp sim LeXtac and LeGion, a freeware preamp simulation.

LeXTAC has been inspired by a great Californian boutique amplifier.

LeGion is a high gain preamp simulator. This is an original design, it’s not based on any hardware gear. My goal here was to build a high gain sim that doesn’t need any booster in front in order to be tight.

LeXtac and LeGion are now available in both VST and AU for Mac. LePou Plugins has also updated the AU version of LeCto, fixing a problem where the GUI did not refresh properly on presets loading.
