Cableguys has announced a public beta version 1.2 of MidiShaper, an effect plug-in for Windows and Mac which features powerful LFOs and envelopes.
MidiShaper allows you to use Curve’s LFOs and envelopes to modulate your synths & effects.
The new version gives you more opportunties to integrate your devices: It can receive MIDI not only directly from the host sequencer, but also via MIDI ports, allows you to define MIDI channels for input and output and to limit its LFO-triggering to a single note.
And we’ve added a snap-to-grid function to MidiShaper’s waveform editor.
The public beta is available to download for Windows and Mac (VST/AU). MidiShaper is available to purchase for 20 EUR / $30 USD.

Unique waveform editing — Just like using a graphics program, draw waveforms with ease and precision. Create smooth bezier curves, peaks, cuts and slopes using soft or hard breakpoints, producing gentle transitions or sharp bends in the waveform.
The LFO — This LFO can take you places. Set it free-running, synced to the beat of your sequencer or synced to the frequency of a note you’re playing, from long, evolving LFO lengths right up to the audible range.
New: MIDI triggering — VolumeShaper is an audio effect, but can receive MIDI from your host sequencer or any virtual or physical MIDI port. Extremely useful. For example, set it to retrigger the LFO when you play a note — perfect for defining the volume envelope of your synths and drum players. You can even set the LFO to the frequency of the note that you play.
New: Oscilloscope — Get a good look at your sounds: A sample-accurate oscilloscope displays the incoming and processed audio signal, so you can see exactly where to draw the curve. Allows faster and more accurate edits.

Exceptional sound quality — VolumeShaper computes the audio at a per-sample basis. Its LFO is interpolated with cubic interpolation and will always stay in sync, even when you make tempo changes in your host software, or jump ahead to different parts of your track.

Cableguys has announced Curve 2, a new version of the virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.
Curve introduced unique waveform editing and preset sharing to the world of synthesizers. Version 2 is in the making, taking its preset sharing steps further and adding more creative sound features. All this while keeping its ease of use, at an excellent sound quality.

Enhanced Audio – Curve’s unparalleled flexibility of drawing waveforms for its aliasing-free OSCs and LFOs brought inspiring, unique sounds. Version 2 adds drawable envelopes, allows for two waveforms per OSC and adds a comprehensive unisono mode.
Expanded Preset Library – Curve’s preset library is a shared online database. Version 2 makes sharing sounds even more exciting by adding a version history, author and preset descriptions and providing a consistent library.
Improved Usability – Curve got praises for its great usability and slick interface. On request from our users, we’ve improved the color scheme. Version 2 brings a new layout, and adds MIDI assignment.
The Curve Community – Since the first beta of Curve 1.0, the Curve community steers the synthesizer’s future by submitting bug reports and feature requests, and by sharing presets.
The public beta for Curve 2 will start in Q1/2012, while more features will be added on the way. Those who purchase Curve 1 or the Cableguys Bundle now will get get the upgrade to Curve 2 for free.
