Analogue Drums updates Plastique drum sound library to v1.6

Analogue Drums Plastique

Analogue Drums has announced version 1.6 of Plastique, a Kontakt sample library featuring a vintage 1970s Ludwig Vistalite in Bonhamesque configuration and tuning.

For all Plastique owners there’s a free update for the Kontakt mapping available. It’s a small download (270kb) and a big improvement for mix control so well worth downloading – please note the requirement to have the v1.53 library update first if you don’t already have it.

Plastique Mapping Update v1.6

  • Greatly improves mix and dynamics control with:
    • 3x additional instrument volume knobs: Hihat, Ride, Crashes.
    • Separated mic layer controls for Close mics, Overhead mics, and Room mics.
    • Improved multi-channel output, with separate output for Kick, Snare, Tom1, Tom2, Tom3, Hihat, Ride, Crashes, Overheads (drums), and Room.
    • Additional dynamics options, now with Dynamic, Detailed, Light, Heavy.
  • Note: This update changes the overall volume output, and preset balances are also different, these changes may impact any existing mixes based on previous mappings for Plastique. It is recommended that you retain copies of your old mappings in case you need to keep an existing mix exactly as-is.

The Plastique library is available to purchase for $39 USD.

Analogue Drums has announced Big Mono Redux, a drum sample library.

After numerous requests from users of Big Mono, we revisited the original recording session from 2003!

We’ve come up with a new drum library with the same sweet sound as the original Big Mono, but now with loads of options for sonic control.

Round-robins, controllable mic layers, adjustable sensitivity and even panning controls are provided to fit the kit into your track. With the same heritage as the original Big Mono, it’s a vintage Ludwig kit, tracked through killer mics and a ’70s Neve directly to 2″ tape.

Overview of features and presets of Analogue Drums Big Mono Redux for NI Kontakt.

Big Mono Redux features

  • 1,234 sample sound files in unencrypted 24bit, 44.1khz WAV format (814MB unzipped).
  • Multi-sampling: each kit component contains up to 8 velocity layers for expressive detail and dynamics.
  • Mic layers: 5x individually controllable microphone perspectives: Coles 4038 in Decca front-of-kit position, Coles 4038 Decca – overhead; Neumann U87 Decca – side, Close mics, and snare-bottom.

Analogue Drums releases Monotown and Gorilla sample libraries + Tape Series Two Bundle

Analogue Drums has announced the release of Monotown and Gorilla, two new drum sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Analogue Drums Monotown

Inspired by the drums of Motown, Stax and sweet R’n'B from yesteryear comes Monotown. It will drive home the beat to old school funk, soul, rhythm and blues. It’ll also fit the bill for current indy and pop where organic production qualities are desired.

Monotown features

  • Multi-sampling: each key contains up to 8 velocity layers for expressive detail and dynamics. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 9 articulations (tip, tight, closed, loose, looser, semi-open, open, pedaled, footsplash).
  • Mic layers: 5x individually controllable microphone perspectives: Coles 4038 front-of-kit; Coles 4038 over kit; RCA 44 over kit, RE20 underside, and Neumann U67 room.
  • Round-robin: natural performance is possible thanks to 6 round-robin hits for each dynamic layer on every instrument.
  • Layouts: Keyboard and eKit/V-Drum mapping layouts provided. The keyboard layout is General MIDI (GM) compatible.
  • Output routing: mono and multi-channel output versions provided.
  • Kontakt instrument interface: with volume and mic controls.
  • Instrument swap: instantly change the snare drum and tambourine sounds at the press of a button.
  • Sensitivity control: increase the sensitivity of the kit for more intricate and subtle performances or leave it set to full dynamic range for heavier tracks.
  • Presets: for quickly changing sounds.
  • Trigger maps: for sound replacement.
Analogue Drums Gorilla

Inspired by the likes of Phil Collins and other pioneers of the gated room sound, we present Gorilla – a classic Gretsch rock kit, with an authentic gated room feature that creates a vibe like no other. Complete with concert toms and Sabian cymbals, this kit will lay down a solid and distinctive foundation for any track.

Gorilla features

  • Multi-sampling: each key contains up to 8 velocity layers for expressive detail. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 7 articulations (tip, tight, closed, loose, semi-open, open, pedaled).
  • Round-robin: each and every hit has 6 unique round-robin samples to avoid the mechanical machine-gun effect.
  • Mic layers: 4x separately controllable microphone perspectives: close mics, snare bottom, overheads and room mics.
  • Layouts: Keyboard and eKit/V-Drum mapping layouts provided. The keyboard layout is General MIDI (GM) compatible.
  • Output routing: stereo and multi-channel output versions provided.
  • Kontakt instrument interface: with volume, pan, and mic mix controls, instant snare-swapping button.
  • Gated room control: switch room gate to various degrees or leave ungated.
