M-RGT releases psyGEN synth plugin

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Oct 22, 2012 - comment 0 comments

M-RGT has announced the release of psyGEN, an experimental granular synthesizer plug-in for Windows.

M-RGT psyGEN
The psyGEN granular multilayer synthesizer uses samples as the source for unique sound generation in the creation of experimental ambient soundscapes, drones, special effects, as well as more traditional synthesizer sounds.

Using granular synthesis as a basis it adds extensive Modulation and FX capabilities to take any type of .wav file source and turn it into a multi-layered composition of great complexity.

With the built-in 16 track sequencer, long evolving ambient/drone sounds can be created and cross-faded with other sounds to create dense tapestries of sound. Also, the sequencer allows for more rhythmic based compositions or patches as well. It is possible to create an entire composition with just one track incorporating many variations.

psyGEN can be used as a standalone synthesizer with a plug-in like SaviHost or similar program or can be installed as a VSTi with a Host DAW.

The psyGEN plug-in for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for $33.50 USD.

M-RGT has released Ambitron, a virtual soundscape generator instrument for Windows.

M-RGT Ambitron

Ambitron is an experimental electronic synthesizer that employs granular synthesis in two separate and programmable layers each with extensive FX and Modulation Matrix modules which provide the user with maximum control over unique sound creation.

Ambitron comes with scores of samples built in but can also support the import of user samples in .wav format for sound creation that can be customized to user preferences and musical styles. As an experimental synthesizer it radically departs from standard “bread and butter” type instruments and is meant to be used as a laboratory for the exploration of new sonic and timbral creations that would be difficult to achieve any other way.

The nature of Ambitron is that it allows for sonic evolution over time and with the use of the various granular controls allows the user to create sounds that have a life of their own and do not repeat in any kind of expected or predictable manner. It is ideal for ambient soundscapes or virtually any type of experimental genres. When used with a midi controller or host these various controls can be manipulated in real time thus further enhancing the sonic possibilities.

Ambitron is meant to be played with and as the user becomes more familiar with its various controls and parameters the possibilities for sounds that are surprising and unexpected are greatly enhanced.

The sonic permutations possible with Ambitron are limited only to the user’s imagination and creativity.

Ambitron for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for $33 USD.

M-RGT has released psyBOX, a space-atmospheric soundscape generator – made to produce sounds, which can be used to create Ambient and Space Music.

M-RGT psyBOX

This particular tool can be called “pilotless”. When you press “Start” button, you will plunge into the boundless world of the drifting waves woven in amazing sound textures. Depths of the outer space and the touch of the strange worlds, earth and heaven, dark and light sides of the existence – all these are the shades of the sound palette of the psyBOX. I recommend as a source of inspiration when you need new ideas.

psyBOX uses the samples as a source of spectra splitting them into multiple grains-micro waves and combining them in clusters. Those clusters are formed randomly and they flow from one into another forming infinite drifting morphing. The two-layer scheme allows to expand tool possibilities making the sound more condensed and multilayered, adding more volume to the panorama.

psyBOX for Windows (VST) is available to purchase for $12.50 USD. The full version package also contains an additional module psyBOX+, which allows user samples as a source for the spectra.
