Cableguys has announced the release of PanCake 2, a freeware panning effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.
PanCake is an innovative plugin that allows you to create flexible pan modulations.
New in version 2: A precise display of channel left/right volume for helpful visual control, an option to trigger the LFO via MIDI notes, a dry/wet control, plus a redesigned interface.

Creative Modulation Tool: Create complex pan modulations with ease.
Unique Waveform Drawing Capabilities: Construct your own modulation curves in a very intuitive manner. Waveforms can be easily drawn using soft or hard control points, thus producing gentle transitions or sharp bends in the waveform.
Customized Waveforms: Up to 10 customized waveforms can be stored.
LFO Speed: LFO speed can be set free-running from 0.02 Hz to 5.24 kHz. It can also be set in rhythmic units synced to the host sequencer, from a fast 1/128 note modulation up to 32 bars.
Always in Sync: The LFO will always stay in sync, even when you make tempo changes in your host software, or jump ahead to different parts of your track.
Complete Parameter Control via Automation: Absolutely everything in PanCake can be automated. Even the shape of the modulating waveform can be automated. And if you want to use more than four modulation curves in a song, you can automate the plugin to switch between them.

Ochen K. has released A-Series 1 and A-Series 2, two modular synthesizer Rack Extensions for Propellerhead Reason.

The A-Series Modular Synth is the first fully modular synth for Reason, where you can design your synths however you want for whatever sound you can imagine. And because all the modules are mix-and-match, all those Reason effects and devices that you already have can go right inside your custom synth.
A-Series Modular Synth features
The A-Series 1 rack extension contains the following modules:
A-19SEQ – A midi-to-CV converter, receiving midi signals from a midi keyboard or the Reason sequencer, of from rack sequencers like the Matrix, and converts the signals into CV (note) data and gate (velocity) data. These signals can then be routed to control any other device, such as a VCO or envelope generator.
A-11VCO – A voltage controlled oscillator generating four waveforms – saw, square, triangle, and sine – all at the same time. The A-11VCO has a 7-octave range with coarse and fine tuning, can accept and mix a second pitch modulation signal to create FM-like effects, and can modulate the pulse width of square waves. Each parameter can be controlled by CV input.
A-14ADSR – An envelope generator with three speed ranges and standard attack, decay, sustain, and release parameters. Each parameter can be controlled by CV input.
A-13VCA – A voltage controlled amplifier allowing multiple signals to control a sound’s gate shape, with two gain CV ins and a two-in audio mixer. Each parameter can be controlled by CV input.
A-14LFO – An LFO with four signal waveforms – saw, square, triangle, and sine, three cycle speed ranges, with both free-running and tempo-synced cycles, and pulse width modulation of the square wave signal. Each parameter can be controlled by CV input.
The A-Series 2 rack extension contains the following modules:
A-19POLY – A polyphonic to monophonic splitter allowing for the creation of polyphonic synths. The A-19POLY supports up to eight voices, each with independent gate and CV data, and three note assign modes: lowest first, sequential (round robin), and random.
A-14SH – A sample and hold module allowing the sampling of CV data and holding that sample constant until a new sample period is triggered.
A-11NOISE – An audio noise generator and a random CV generator. The audio noise generator can generate white noise, pink noise, brown noise, and any blend in between. Each parameter can be controlled by CV input.
A-12VCF – A voltage controlled filter with a four-poll high-pass and low-pass filter, a band-pass filter when used in combination, and CV control over each frequency cutoff.
A-11RM – A ring modulator taking two audio signals and modulating them to produce a single audio result.
A-13MIXER – A six channel mixer with six audio ins and one master audio out. The level of each in and out can be controlled by CV signals.

Nomad Factory has announces version 1.5 of MAGMA, adding a modulation matrix and VST chainer to the virtual studio rack.

MAGMA version 1.5 adds two significant new modules. The first is a Modulation Matrix with up to 32 source/destination routings, 8 programmable LFOs, and a programmable 16-step sophisticated MSEG Multiple Segment Envelope Generator that allows users to create up to 8 unique envelopes for modulation sources. All sources, including MIDI messages, can control any parameter of any MAGMA effect loaded in the virtual rack. The second new module is called the VST Chainer, which allows users to load and access all other Nomad Factory plug-ins or any 3rd party VST plug-ins for use in the MAGMA routing and processing environment.
Both of these modules are offered as a no-cost upgrade version 1.0 of MAGMA that already features new types of audio processing, routing, and flexibility in a simple, intuitive package. MAGMA 1.5 comes with 65 All New Effects. Featuring 1-rack-unit interfaces that can be loaded and rearranged using up to four racks, MAGMA also comes with a flexible routing matrix enabling serial, parallel or combined routings.
