Nine Volt Audio Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko, sample library for Kontakt 3/4

Nine Volt Audio Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko

Nine Volt Audio has announced the release of Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Capturing a new uniqueness and realism that only ensemble playing of this magnitude can convey, Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko is a sample set that presents ten percussionists playing ten deep and resonant Japanese taiko drums in a 1200 seat hall.

The playing was recorded from stage, balcony and two separate hall microphone positions, each capturing tight hits, loose hits, extra loose hits, tight rim hits, loose rim hits, tight stick clicks and loose stick clicks. The core content weighs in at over one gigabyte, with nearly 1400 samples.

Patches have been designed to meet a range of needs, from traditional open-air taiko ensembles to the sound of distant armies on the march.

Like our earlier Stickbreakers Vol 1: Tom Edition, great attention has been put toward a wide range of “ease-of-use” features.

Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko features

  • 1.06 GB of 44.1 kHz/24bit samples and 18 Kontakt 3.5/4 instrument patches. Download is 516 MB.
  • A wide range of articulations, some with as many as 111 samples per key, with a total of 1392 samples. User interface controls are available to control the depth of automatic sample rotation and other humanization features.
  • Contains a “Master FX” patch capable of implementing 24 different FX chains. Additionally, each FX chain has alternate effects that can be cross-faded in real-time using the pitch bend wheel.
  • Ensemble recordings were made with percussionists placed in suitable acoustic positions to accommodate composers wishing for accuracy in stereo width and depth.
  • Patches are available with multi-microphone mix controls.
  • User interface controls include: convolution reverb (with 14 custom IR .wavs), saturation, stereo width, velocity curve, low and high pass filters, delay, low, mid and high EQ gain, AHDSR, remap knob and humanization.
  • Compatible with full retail versions of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 3.5 and up. The free Kontakt Player will only allow for 30 minutes of unrestricted use.

Stickbreakers Vol 2: Ten Man Taiko is available to purchase for $69.99 USD.

Nine Volt Audio Duo – Tingklik, sample library for Kontakt

Nine Volt Audio Duo - Tingklik

Nine Volt Audio has announced the release of Duo Tingklik, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt 3/4.

Duo – Tingklik: The tingklik’s design results in a sound that is both unique and exotic yet immediately useable in a wide range of musical contexts.

Originating from Bali, these marimba-like instruments are made with bamboo, split halfway down their length, are then carved so that a closed tube resonator remains on the other half. The completed keys are mounted to a wooden frame with string, allowing them to sway when hit.

As part of Nine Volt Audio’s new Duo product line, we’ve recorded TWO tingkliks. The “Red” tingklik is a large 11-note model with its lowest bamboo note measuring over 3’ long, while the “White” is a smaller 8-note version covering a higher range.

Duo – Tingklik features

  • Nearly 720 MB of 44.1kHz/24bit samples and 40 Kontakt 3.5/4 instrument patches and multis. Download is 441 MB.
  • There are 90+ samples per note sampled on both instruments with all stick types, for a total of 3520 samples. User interface controls are available to control the depth of automatic sample rotation and other humanization features.
  • Core natural patches are offered in “Lite”, “Medium” and “Large” sizes to accommodate different levels of RAM and CPU usage.
  • “Unison” patches are available for both tingkliks allowing for the simulation of two people playing simultaneously. These patches have additional “Spread” and “Detune” user interface controls.
  • Arpeggiator patches and multis include 12 patterns per patch. Patterns 1-6 are duple meter (2/4, 4/4), patterns 7-10 triple meter (3/4, 6/8), and patterns 11 and 12 are 5/4 and 7/8, respectively.
  • User interface controls are available to alter chromatic playing modes to the instruments’ original keys and scales – along with numerous other keys and scales.
  • Additional user interface controls include: convolution reverb (with 14 custom IR .wavs), saturation, stereo width, velocity curve, low and high pass filters, delay, low, mid and high EQ gain, AHDSR, remap knob and humanization.

Duo – Tingklik is available to purchase for $59.99 USD.

Nine Volt Audio Stickbreakers Vol 1 – Tom Edition, sample library for Kontakt

Nine Volt Audio Stickbreakers Vol 1 – Tom Edition

Nine Volt Audio has released Stickbreakers Vol 1 – Tom Edition, a Kontakt 3/4 sample library.

Created with twelve tom-tom drums, four percussionists, three stereo microphone positions, two concert bass drums and one 1200 seat hall, Stickbreakers Vol 1: Tom Edition combines content and creativity with ease of use to form an audio palette of airy lows, rounded mids and slamming high drum sounds.

Ensemble and solo tom recordings were captured from stage, balcony and hall microphone positions, each offering no less than 120 samples per drum/key. Four drums/pitches were captured for a range of natural tones with projection, resonance and strength. Two suspended concert bass drums with an array of articulations supply rumble and added richness of sound. The core content weighs in at over 2 GB of material, with 3,333 samples. But the collection goes beyond natural sounds…

By combining various pitches, articulations and microphone positions and applying all manner of EQ and effects, Stickbreakers offers 65 hybridized drum patches. These are not “listen to the crazy sound we made” type of patches, but rather focus on highly useable and clearly categorized sound types a composer needs on a regular basis.

Stickbreakers Vol 1 – Tom Edition features

  • 2.28 GB of 44.1 kHz/24bit samples and 82 Kontakt 3.5/4 instrument patches covering ensemble and solo toms, solo concert bass and hybridized drum sounds. Download is 1.06 GB.
  • Ensemble and solo recordings use 8”, 10”, 12” and 13” open back concert toms with extra long maple shells (three each for ensemble recordings). There are 120+ samples per drum/key. User interface controls are available to control the depth of automatic sample rotation and other humanization features.
  • Ensemble recordings were made with percussionists placed in suitable acoustic positions to accommodate composers wishing for accuracy in stereo width and depth.
  • Ensemble and solo instrument patches are available with multi-microphone mix controls.
  • Solo concert bass drum recordings were made with two suspension mounted models: a 32”x16” covered with natural animal skin and a 36”x18” with a Fiberskyn head. Articulations include open hits, muted hits and crescendo rolls for one of the drums.
  • User interface controls include: convolution reverb (with 14 custom IR .wavs), saturation, stereo width, velocity curve, low and high pass filters, delay, low, mid and high EQ gain, AHDSR, remap knob and humanization.
  • Two bonus “Big Hits” instrument patches are offered with 24 different keyswitchable fx chains.
  • Compatible with full retail versions of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 3.5 and up. The free Kontakt Player will only allow for 30 minutes of unrestricted use.

Stickbreakers Vol 1 – Tom Edition is available to purchase for a discounted price of $79.99 USD. The regular retail price of $99.99 USD will go in affect upon the release of Stickbreakers Vol 2 (different percussion type).

Nine Volt Audio Pop Rock Guitars Direct

Nine Volt Audio has announced the release of Pop Rock Guitars Direct, a clean, uneffected, uncompressed, direct-to-the-board version of Nine Volt Audio’s award winning Pop Rock Guitars loop collection.

It is a vast resource of six-string sounds that captures the energy and vibe of today’s chart-topping hits. With its radio-ready hooks, head bouncing rhythms and fist-pumping choruses, this collection makes finding the right guitar part a whole lot easier.

From a producer’s perspective, it often takes more than a single guitar track to build a great song. That’s why every song part in Pop Rock Guitars Direct is comprised of multiple complimentary melodies and rhythms designed to lock together. Call-and-response phrases, chiming arpeggios backed by double-tracked power chords, and interweaving riffs all work together to create rhythmic and harmonic depth.

And as part of the BPM Flex Series™, Pop Rock Guitars Direct allows every REX-based loop to be used at a huge range of tempos with no artificial stretching. Need to use an 89 BPM loop with a 132 BPM loop in a track set to 105 BPM: no problem!

With in-the-pocket playing, tight organization and consistent tones amongst parts, Pop Rock Guitars Direct offers a smooth experience from inspiration to final mix.

Pop Rock Guitars Direct features

  • Nearly 1000 files for each format: REX2, Stylus RMX, Apple Loops, ACIDized Wav and Reason ReFill (ReFill is only available on the DVD, however, Reason customers can easily use the REX download version).
  • Organized into 16 song suites. Each suite has clearly labeled song parts (into, verse, chorus, bridge, etc…) with sustained chords for endings and breaks.
  • Includes an “A” (Stratocaster), “B” (Les Paul) and “C” (Les Paul Special) guitar part for every song section, all performing distinct parts.
  • Large selection of “Toolbox” parts comprised of chromatic straight-ahead strummed 8th note power chord loops, chromatic major and minor sustained chords, and a range of slides. These are designed to supplement any suite or stand on their own as the backbone to any track.
  • Using Pop Rock Guitars DIRECT within Stylus RMX requires the user to drag-and-drop only one folder into RMX’s included S.A.G.E. Converter.
  • Includes Stylus RMX multi patches that allow the user to automatically load the A, B and C parts of any suite.
  • All loops are in 24-bit/44.1kHz resolution.

Pop Rock Guitars Direct is available to purchase for $99.99 USD. A bundle with the Pop Rock Guitars library is available for $134.98 USD (save $65 USD).

Nine Volt Audio Metal Guitar: Riffs & Rhythms

Nine Volt Audio has announced the release of Metal Guitar: Riffs & Rhythms, a sample library featuring over 7GB of metal guitar sounds.

From bold and belligerent drop-tuned rhythms to rapid-fire upper register riffs, Metal Guitar is an intense and ultra flexible collection appropriate for any producer’s six-string toolbox.

Designed to bridge the gap between the compositional flexibility of a sampled instrument and the inspiration found when using loops, Metal Guitar takes a brute force approach by offering 293 unique patterns recorded at 15 chromatic intervals for a total of 4395 loops. This approach brings performance variation, compositional immediacy and added realism since the need to rely on pitch-shifting is virtually non-existent.

And as part of Nine Volt Audio’s BPM Flex Series™, every loop in Metal Guitar can be used at virtually any tempo with no artificial stretching. Apple Loop and Acid Wav users will find a special utility that allows the extraction of any loop, suite or the entire collection at any tempo, down to 85 BPM. Need the entire Metal Guitar library at tempos 110, 135, 152 and 170? No problem!

With all parts double-tracked, guitars tuned to low C and MIDI bassline files for every pattern, Metal Guitar is a one-stop-shop for heavy rhythms and blazing riffs.

Metal Guitar is available in an Amped & Distorted Edition or a Clean & Direct Edition for $109.99 USD each, or bundle on a double DVD Combo set for $144.98 USD (save $75 USD).
