KVR Audio has announced it is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a Year-Long Giveaway.
In February 2010 KVR Audio is celebrating 10 years as the number one news and information resource for audio plug-ins! To mark this special occasion we are having a huge giveaway contest for the whole year (until the end of Jan 2011)! Every month we’ll give away a prize from a major software developer, gear manufacturer or educational institution.
All you have to do is fill out our quick survey once and you will be entered into the prize draw with the chance to win one of the prizes every month! Simple.
We’ve teamed up several leading software, hardware and sample library developers to bring you a fantastic selection of prizes – with a value of more than $8000! A big thank you to these companies for being so generous (with more still to come)!

Ohm Force has released version 1.23 of Symptohm:Melohman, a virtual synthesizer plug-in for Windows and Mac.
Symptohm:Melohman was born to remind the world that great music comes not from cold calculation but from passion. Unlike other synths, bound to rigid curves and predetermined behavior, Symptohm:Melohman responds to your touch, enabling you to control every aspect of Its twisted sonic mayhem in a most natural, intuitive and musical way. More sonic control than you ever thought possible is now, quite literally, at your fingertips.
Changes in Symptohm:Melohman v1.23
- Finally been able to correct a long standing DSP bug in which the plug-in could crash with extreme oscillator settings.
- Fixed bug in the preset browser which would display an “invalid root directory” and no presets in some cases.
- RTAS Windows bug with PT 8.0.1 fixed : changing the hardware buffer size with some Ohm Force plug-ins loaded lead to a crash.
Symptohm:Melohman is available to purchase for PC and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS), priced at 79 EUR for a single format license, or 99 EUR for the pack.

Ohm Force has announced that Symptohm:Melohman Performer Edition, a simplified version of the Symptohm:Melohman powersynth, is now available as freeware.
Two months ago we announced our pricing changes in our “it’s still business, but let’s keep it reasonable” disclaimer, and we listened to all kind of reactions.
Some guys from the audio/plug-in industry might have said that we’re naïve or anti-corporate, while the music press has warmly reacted and dozens of individual music producers have written to us to comment on how much they share the same point of view about it all. No need to say that, among the industry, the press and music producers, we’ll mostly listen to – and work for – the latter. We love music and music making, and will always do our part to support the scene.
The pricing changes were only the beginning: from today, we invite all music producers in the world to download and use for free the Performer Edition of our Symptohm:Melohman powersynth. That’s it: Symptohm:Melohman is now freeware, joining our rock solid stinky Frohmage filter.
That’s our Christmas gift for the music production scene. Exploring new sounds is priceless! And when we say priceless, we really mean it :-)

Ohm Force has announced it has reduced the prices of its plug-ins and bundles.
When we say dropping prices, we really mean it: not only the plugin’s licenses are globally MUCH more affordable when purchased individually, the big ALL-ALL Bundle can now be grabbed by only 299€.
By the way, we’ve benefited from the moment to tide up our bundle’s section and now live performers can choose the ALL-Live Bundle, containing the plugins from which features are specially suitable for live tweaking: Ohmicide:Melohman, Symptohm:Melohman and the Quad Frohmage – the three for only 199€.
The first two, as the Melohman part of the name suggests, have extended preset morphing capabilities: it’s possible to morph from one preset on the fly to another using a midi keyboard controller, with a full set of configurable parameters. The latter is one of the most powerful and tweakable filter banks out there, with an advanced XADSR module, 6 midi controlled envelope followers, 6 event generators, among many other killer features.
