Patchpool has announced the release of Best Of Iris Subscription Vol. 1 – Strings & Voices, a collection of 83 patches taken from the Patchpool Iris Subscription archive.
This first library excerpt comprises sounds which are derived from samples of string instruments (plucked and bowed) like acoustic and electric guitars, violin, viola, cello, piano, psaltery, harps, oud, mandolin and bowed vibraphone samples.
Then there are patches making use of orchestral samples recorded during rehearsals and performances of my own orchestral music and some backstage recordings and you will find vocal patches with samples of solo voices, vocal textures, field recordings of temple monks and nuns, crowds, kids and even a singing sikh.
All samples involved are embedded in the presets using the “Export”-function in the Iris Browser. After uncompressing the downloaded RAR-archive just drop the entire download folder into “Iris Library->Patches”.
The library is available for purchase for 32 EUR via the “Buy Excerpts” tab on the Iris Subscription page.

Patchpool has announced Diversity 2, an upcoming soundset for the Diversion synthesizer instrument by Dmitry Sches.
As with the latest update (verision 1.3) Diversion was enabled to play samples both in normal sampling- and granular mode, this new set will contain about 1.5 Gigabytes of samples, half of which were created especially for this soundset, the other half borrowed from other patchpool libraries.
Organic textures and acoustic instruments like woodwinds, guitars and percussion instruments meet digital oscillators, by intermodulating these sources via ring modulation and FM synthesis new sounds are born, which can be diverse to the extreme. Ethereal textures and angelic whispers meet dark and disconcerting drones, vivid sequences meet minimalistic rhythms, warm pads clash with cold metallic sounds, pristine glass textures are absorbed by surreal and futuristic soundscapes.
Diversity 2 features
- Approximately 100+ patches.
- 1.5 GB of samples.
- ETA: mid September.
- Price on release: € 32 EUR.
The soundset is available for pre-order for 24 EUR.

Patchpool has announced the release of Aqualignum, a sound library for Camel Audio’s Alchemy instrument, combining waterphone samples from the Scattered Entity Vol. 1 library with original oud samples, an arab string instrument especially multisampled for this library.
The mysterious and haunting tones of the waterphone meet the warm embracing string sounds of the orient. Tradition melds with futurism, water, wood and metal compose Aqualignum. This library contains 56 patches (including 1 variation) making use of 1.76 GB of samples, resynthesized sounds and electronic derivatives. Multisampled string instruments derived from the oud with up to 5 velocity layers and 3x round robin (variations per sample), calm and dark drones, beautiful and fragile waterphone pads, ominous and evocative soundscapes, futuristic textures and metallic percussion instruments are contained in this set.
The oud articulations include plectrum-picked strings (played with a special oud plectrum), finger-plucked vibrato tones, up and down slides, tremoli, bowed oud (violin bow) and some phrases. The waterphone was played with two differently sized bows creating all kinds of arpeggio textures with water-modulated decay-phases, scraping and moaning metal sounds, long sustained notes played with a violin bow for creating multisampled tonal pad sounds and the instrument was beaten with various beaters for metallic percussion sounds and bass tones.
- 1.76 Gigabytes of samples (wav) and resynthesized files (.aaz).
- 56 patches (including 1 variation) with 8 variations each in Alchemy’s Remix Pad, all Performance Controllers and both x/y-pads are assigned for each patch.
- Delivery: download – RAR-archive in two parts for better download handling.
The library is available for purchase for 38 EUR.

Patchpool has announced the release of DNA, a soundset for the Molekular effect ensemble for Native Instruments Reaktor.
It contains 98 presets with 4 variations each in the Morphing section, making use of the sophisticated modulation system inside this unique effect instrument. Some of these snapshots orbit more on the sonic outskirts of the musical universe, some are variations on a theme.
Beautiful ambient, ethereal, mysterious and haunting textures are waiting for you, stuttering and glitchy temposynced mayhem for spicing up loops and beats, moving filterscapes and stereo animators to process pads and other horizontal textures as well as some experimental sounds that are beyond any categorization.
All presets have the 5 positions in the morphing section programmed, these can be used as a starting point for morphing between the complex effect modulations in each preset. Each preset also has more or less complex morphing modulations assigned. All snapshots are programmed 100% wet for Molekular to be used on a send bus. If you insert Molekular directly on an instrument track, use the “Dry”-knob at the upper right of the GUI to blend in the unprocessed audio signal.
The soundset is now available for purchase for 28 EUR. Requires full version of Reaktor.

Patchpool has released version 2.0 of Alchemistry Metallurgy, a sound library for Camel Audio Alchemy.
First released in late 2011, I updated this library in February 2014 adding 1.25 GB of samples, mainly from my library Scattered Entity Vol. 1 for MachFive plus 300 MB of new bell samples.
This library now contains 84 patches with 8 variations each in the Remix Pad and focuses on metallic sounds derived from real instruments, metal objects and industrial field recordings. This patch collection keeps the balance between real sounding metal instruments, otherworldly textures and wondrous soundscapes using also some processed electronic derivatives of the sampled materials.
All sounds are sample-based, some patches use the resynthesis features in Alchemy. You will find many patches and snapshots which sound warm, delicate and beautiful, characteristics one may not normally associate with metallic sounds.
The sample library is available to purchase for 46 EUR. Requires full version of Alchemy (Alchemy Player not supported).
