SoundToys releases MicroShift plugin

SoundToys has announced the release of MicroShift, a micro pitch shifter effect plug-in that allows for widening of your sound.

SoundToys MicroShift

MicroShift makes it wide. Be it vocals, synths, guitars, backing vocals or whatever you choose to run through it, MicroShift uses this classic studio trick to spread out, thicken up, or give a new space to any track you hit with it. Of course, the SoundToys spin takes it beyond the original with the new FOCUS knob that lets you push and widen specific ranges without affecting the rest of the track.

Amazing for adding “shimmer” to a vocal, or “air” to a guitar. Control of the detune amount, delay, and a mix knob let you tweak the effect to fit just right in the track. MicroShift combines the classic sound of the hardware with new advanced features, and an intuitive interface. Simply huge.

MicroShift for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS/AAX) is available to purchase for $89 USD. Users of MicroShift Little can upgrade for $49 USD, and MicroShift Little is also included with a purchase of MicroShift before March 4th, 2014.

WOK has announced the release of PITCHD, the latest in its series of free one-trick-pony effect plug-ins for Windows.

WOK PITCHD

PITCHD is a delay plugin with a pitch shifter in the echo path. So each echo is pitched up or down according to the fine tune or semitone knob.

The delay time can be set in milliseconds or synced to host, and the plugin can be used as insert or send effect.

Let the echo’s pitch drift away softly with a slight detune or up or down by a maximum of one octave to create strange effects.

PITCHD for Windows (VST) is available as freeware.

Aegean Music releases Pitchproof free pitch shifter & harmonizer

Aegean Music has released Pitchproof, a free pitch shifter/harmonizer effect plug-in for Windows.

Aegean Music Pitchproof
Pitchproof shifts the pitch of the signal in a high-quality but old-school way.

Pitchproof is an audio plug-in that can shift the pitch of the input. The effect is meant to combine old styles of pitch shifting with the quality you expect from modern plug-ins.

The result is this pitch “pedal” simulation that has most of what is great about guitar harmonizer pedals, and still preserves the signal’s integrity.

Pitchproof features

  • Blend control for selecting fully shifted output, or the dry and wet signals mixed (a harmony).
  • Pitch select -12 to +12, and 6 harmonies (intelligent pitch shift effects).
  • Detune for a more natural effect.
  • Mono option (lower CPU usage), or stereo for stereo inputs.
  • Transient Fix.
  • Guitar tuner.

The plug-in is available to download as freeware for Windows (VST).

Point Blank intros free Monster Timestretch device for Ableton Live

Point Blank has announced Monster Timestretch, a free Max for Live device for Ableton Live by Daniel Herbert.

The new Max for Live device from Point Blank is a timestretching plugin based on a technique known as phase vocoding and can time stretch sounds in realtime. It’s similar to the fantastic Paul Stretch and is ideal for creating slowly evolving drone-like textures as well as more futuristic sounds.

There are four different modes which allow you to play through and explore the sound in a variety of ways and literally freeze the sound.

The plugin is limited to processing the first 30 seconds of an audio file and only works within Ableton as a M4L device and will not play in any other DAW. We recommend you use resampling if you need to record the effect to a new audio file.

The plugin is a free download at Point Blank.
