PreSonus has announced version 5.1 of Notion, the music notation software for Windows and Mac.
PreSonus Notion is famed for outstanding playback sounds, speedy workflow, compatibility, and ease of use, and it’s the only notation software that works with a standalone iPad app. It offers powerful features for scoring to picture. And it costs a fraction of what those slow, bloated, overcomplicated scoring programs soak you for. That’s why Notion 5 is the best notation software for composers, performers, producers, worship teams, arrangers, orchestrators, educators, and music students.
Changes in Notion v5.1
- Demo version now available.
- Ability to open exported audio stems from Notion in Studio One, with automatic track names, volume, pan, rehearsal marks, and initial tempo and time signature information.
- Custom number of strings can once more be entered from Instrument Staff Settings window. The number of strings is then reflected in tab and on the interactive fretboard.
- SoundCloud upload now working.
- VST instruments that have presets supported by Notion now show again in the Instrument Staff Settings window.
- Notion reverb no longer resets.
- Instrumental techniques for the new Woodwind and Brass expansion packs now show in the palette.
- Video window now waits for metronome count-in before starting to record.
- Windows version of Notion will now open a new score when the previous score is closed with the mixer showing.
- Connection to ASIO devices with more than 128 channels has been fixed.
- Keyboard shortcut preferences retained in international languages.
Notion for Windows and Mac is available for purchase for MSRP $199 USD.

PreSonus has announced two new StudioLive AI Mix Systems that deliver large-format channel counts, recording, powerful DSP, and more for under $7,000.
Available in 48- and 64-channel frame sizes, StudioLive AI Mix Systems consists of two cascaded StudioLive AI consoles, a joining bracket that locks the two mixers together, a PreSonus PRM1 Precision Reference Microphone, and a custom dust cover.
StudioLive AI Mix Systems perform as a cohesive mixer and offer a familiar, surface-driven workflow with one-to-one control over every parameter. Every channel is routed through the bus outputs of the Master mixer and every global setting is controlled from the Master to provide seamless integration between the two cascaded consoles. All the power and performance available to a single StudioLive AI mixer are available to cascaded StudioLive AI Mix Systems.
Each StudioLive AI Mix System provides a robust audio interface, making it easy to record and playback audio as well as to use your favorite plugins as inserts on any of channel. Connect each mixer to a wireless router with a standard Ethernet cable and you’re ready to remote control your StudioLive AI Mix System from an iPad or iPhone or go wireless using the included USB WiFi LAN adapters.
The StudioLive 64AI Mix System cascades two StudioLive 32.4.2AI mixers to create a 64-channel system with 80 x 66, continuously bidirectional FireWire 800 recording interface; 26 mix buses, including 8 effects buses (for 4 reverb and 4 delay processors), and a whopping 558 discrete EQ and dynamics processors. This feature-rich, 64-channel mixing system is a fraction of the size, weight, and price of a conventional large-format digital console yet offers features no console anywhere near its price class can match.
The StudioLive 48AI Mix System consists of two cascaded StudioLive 24.4.2AI mixers, giving you a 48-channel console with an onboard 64 x 50 FireWire 800 recording interface; 22 total mix buses, including 8 effects buses; and DSP processing on every channel and bus for a total of 438 EQ and dynamics processors.
Like every StudioLive AI mixer, the StudioLive 64AI and 48AI Mix System include the StudioLive Software Library. The library includes PreSonus’ Capture™ live recording software, Studio One® Artist DAW, VSL-AI with Smaart Measurement Technology™ for Mac® and Windows®, SL Remote-AI for iPad®, and QMix™-AI for iPhone®/iPod® touch, plus a free account with PreSonus’ Nimbit® online direct-to-fan marketing and distribution service.
PreSonus StudioLive 64AI and 48AI Mix Systems are available for an expected street price of $6,999.95 USD and $5,499.95 USD, respectively.

PreSonus has announced the availability of HD mode for StudioLive AI-series mixers. Once updated, any StudioLive AI-series mixer can record and play back audio streams at sample rates up to 96 kHz over the onboard FireWire 800 interface. The number of recording and playback streams is unaffected.
Designed with recording in mind, HD mode limits cascading and output processing while retaining bus mixing, Fat Channel processing on every input channel, and one reverb and one delay processor. Since included Capture™ and Studio One® Artist for Mac® and Windows® already record high-definition audio, no updates to these applications are required.
Registered StudioLive AI-series mixer owners can update their StudioLive AI-series mixer firmware free by downloading the firmware from their My PreSonus account or by connecting their mixer to an Internet-capable network and updating over the Web. Information on how to update the firmware is available from the online PreSonus Knowledgebase.
PreSonus also announced that its Nimbit® online, direct-to-fan music marketing, promotion, and sales service now supports high-definition (24-bit, 96 kHz) audio.
Only PreSonus offers a complete, “riff to release” music recording, production, and delivery solution for high-definition audio. Record, mix, and master in 24-bit, 96 kHz with a PreSonus StudioLive AI-series mixer and Capture or Studio One, then upload your HD files directly to Nimbit for promotion and delivery.

PreSonus has announced the Temblor T8, an active subwoofer monitor speaker.
Designed for critical listening in the studio or at home, the PreSonus® Temblor® T8 active subwoofer complements any full-range monitoring system, making it ideal for personal studios, gaming, audiophiles, and home theaters.
Like its larger sibling the Temblor T10, the T8 naturally extends the low-frequency response of full-range speakers without overshadowing them. The Temblor T8 delivers punchy, musical lows and offers user controls not normally available in this price range, including a continuously variable lowpass filter (50 Hz to 130 Hz) for creating a seamless crossover transition and a switchable highpass filter that removes content below 80 Hz from the full-range signal sent to satellite speakers, allowing you the flexibility to optimize your system for your room and your needs.
While an ideal companion for the PreSonus Ceres™ Bluetooth monitors, the Temblor T8 has been designed to pair with any home or studio speaker, including those in PreSonus’ professional studio-monitor lines. The Temblor T8 features an 8-inch, down-firing, glass-composite woofer with high-density rubber surround driven by a Class AB amplifier that delivers 200W power. It also sports a round, front-firing acoustic port; left and right ¼-inch TRS and RCA main inputs; and left right ¼-inch TRS and RCA pass-through outputs to connect satellite speakers, making it the perfect hub for your sound system.
As with PreSonus Ceres speakers, the Energy Conservation mode meets the European ErP directive.
