Psychic Modulation has announced the release of Dubtron2, a bass synthesizer instrument for Windows.

Dubtron2 takes Dubtron’s modulation-based concept into new territory, exploring quirky analogue basses, modern rhythmic soundscapes, chilly dub techno and experimental ambient textures.

Dubtron2 uses beat-driven modulation and sub-rhythms along with randomization to bring about interesting rhythmic sounds and atmospheres.

This along with it’s serial filter system, a feedback-looping dub delay and a “Phonec-style” Melt feature makes Dubtron2 a extremely versatile instrument with a unique approach to sonic exploration.

Psychic Modulation has released version 1.4 of its Phonec synthesizer instrument for Windows.

Phonec is best described as an ‘analog flux synthesizer’. Inspired by the mystique of video logo synth scores from worn out VHS tapes, Phonec was primarily designed with character in mind.

However Phonec is capable of producing a wide range of sounds such as vintage analogue tones, lo-fi synthscapes, ethereal pads, minimal techno sequences, and synthwave leads and basses.

Changes in Phonec v1.4

  • Overall sound improvements.
  • New Pulse Width oscillator modes.
  • Added new switch for retriggering the oscillator phase on each note; produces a much more solid sound; excellent for outrun style basslines.
  • New LFO & envelope targets: Filter attack/decay & pulse width.
  • Added invert switches to mod envelopes.

  • GUI update: aesthetic improvements as well as various fixes.
  • Improved sliders, now easier to control.
  • Fixed sequencer random mode not working.
  • Fixed volume changes when switching Melt modes.
  • Fixed problem with panning envelope.
  • Fixed various legato/portamento related arp issues.
  • Noise level can now go higher.
  • HFO velocity was inverted, now fixed.
  • Added two new switches to seq; for adding an octave to pitch seq, and inverting filter/amp seq.
  • Changed LFO3 target list, ‘Melt’ and ‘Echo Tune’ were not compatible with a polyphonic LFO, caused cpu spikes; added ‘Sub Pitch’.
  • Improved presets.
  • Includes a separate ‘effect’ version so Cubase users can utilize audio input routing.

Psychic Modulation has updated the Phonec virtual “analog flux synthesizer” to version 1.2.

New features in this version include improved Melt function with new Tape mode, External Audio Processing (use Phonec as an effect!), improved patch system, new waveforms, X-wave mode and more!

Changes in Phonic v1.2

  • Improved Melt function with two modes: Circuit (internal oscillator based modulation) and Tape (post-delay outboard pitch-shifter based effect).
  • Phonec can now be used as an FX unit, allowing external audio to pass through the Melt effect as well as the Echoshifter.
  • Added Jump and Buffer controls to Melt panel.
  • Melt Amp can now go to 0 to turn off.
  • Updated patch system: click patch name to rename for easier creation of patch banks.
  • Added new X-wave function to Oscillator Combiner.
