2009 has been a great year for me (becoming a dad) and I hope it was great for you too.
Somehow I managed to get close to 3,000 posts out to you, bringing the latest news in audio software, samples and sound libraries, some reviews, and other random stuff.
I would like the thank you all for supporting rekkerd.org with your useful comments, suggestions, corrections & donations, and just for visiting. I hope you will continue to enjoy rekkerd.org in 2010.
A happy new year to you all, may it be a musical one!
Beats, basslines, synth melodies… This latest rekkerd.org sample pack has them all. Mixed bag volume 2 features 26 samples, in 24bit/44kHz stereo wav format.
The download is about 100MB, so I just dropped the samples in Ableton Live and put together a quick demo in case you want to hear what type of samples are included before you download them.
Note: the files have been normalized to 0dB peak. You may want to audition the samples at a moderate volume as some samples are considerably louder than others.

Time sure goes fast when you’re having fun. Earlier this year I became a dad, quite possibly the coolest thing ever to happen in my life. It is probably also one of the most life changing things I will ever experience. Priorities change, and spare time gets a whole new meaning.
No wonder it has been almost half a year since the last pack of loops!
Anyway, here is another collection of various original beats, melodies and some fx samples.
The sample pack features 34 .wav files — 24bit/44kHz stereo — and can be downloaded below (85.9 MB). Note: the files have been normalized to 0dB peak. You may want to audition the samples at a moderate volume as some samples are considerably louder than others.

Prime Loops is a relatively new sound provider.
Having only launched about 6 months ago, they have already made a big impact with a few dozen quality sample libraries.
If you don’t know Prime Loops, make sure to check the free sounds for a taster of what they’re all about.
Recently a new section was added to the Prime Loops website, the Studio Techniques. Here you will find tons of useful (video) tutorials and tips & tricks to bring your production skills to a new level.
Prime Loops has generously donated a copy of one of their sample libraries.
For a chance to win this sample library, all you need to do is:

- and name the title of the library you’d like to win.
The deadline is Sunday 19 April, 2009, 23:59pm CET.
There will be three winners, randomly picked from all the correct answers*. These lucky people will get the Prime Loops sample library of their choice.

I recently recorded some everyday sounds with a little pocket recorder.
For the recording I used the Zoom H2, a lovely compact digital recorder (review by Echo Voodoo here).
After editing the recording I ended up with 85 files, in 24-bit/44kHz, stereo .wav format. The samples include sounds of me tapping on various objects (glass, lamp, vase etc.), wiggling keys, playing with some bicycle parts and more.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a pack of loops so I figured let me post one before the year is over.
This collection of samples includes a wide range of loops — beats, melodies, fx & more. All 48 samples are in 24bit/44kHz stereo .wav format (75MB uncompressed).
