Producertech launches Maschine Courses

Producertech has announced the launch of Maschine Courses, a new website offering quality online training for Native Instruments’ powerful groove production studio, Maschine.

Maschine Courses

The courses on offer range from complete guides, covering all areas of the software and hardware, to courses focusing on certain styles of music, like House and Glitch Hop, as well as a Producer’s Guide to Music Theory, with many more courses to follow.

The site has a sleek look and intuitive functionality, working well on all browsing devices, such as smart phones and tablets, making it easy for students to access courses from wherever they are in the word, at whatever times they like. Plus, all of the courses come with accompanying downloadable materials, such as Maschine projects, bonus packs of Loopmasters samples and Maschine kits, written notes and even projects that enable students to practice their newly-acquired skills.

The Complete Guide to MKII course is now fully updated to Maschine version 2, and also new tutorials are currently being made with Studio and Mikro, so very soon there will be complete guides to all three versions of the hardware. Many more courses are planned for later in the year too, including those that teach other styles of music like Drum and Bass and much more!

Producer Tech launches Complete Guide to Maschine MKII

Producer Tech has released the Complete Guide to Maschine MKII, a video tutorial course that takes you through every part of the Maschine v2 software and hardware, slowly explaining how each one works and the ways they can be used to create a variety of different styles of music.

Complete Guide to Maschine MKII

The lessons begin by showing how a pattern is constructed, by playing the pads, or drawing in events. Then, there are lessons covering the various pad modes, including step mode, keyboard mode and various velocity modes, explaining how to use them and when they are most suitable. There are then lessons on Scenes and building arrangements within Maschine, the Sampling facility and how to record and edit your own samples, and finally 2 lessons on effects, that teach the full range of effects in the library and how they can be used as inserts or sends for processing sounds, groups and the master bus.

The course comes with written notes, as well as the Maschine projects created in the movies. Plus, there are 240MB of royalty-free samples from Loopmasters included in the course pack. Before signing up, check out the free sample lesson embedded below, which provides an introduction to Maschine and the course.

The course is available from Loopmasters for £39.95 GBP.

Producertech has launched Producer’s Guide to Music Theory with Maschine, a video tutorial course by Rob Jones.

Producer’s Guide to Music Theory with Maschine

If you own Maschine and feel you could do with a bit more knowledge on the theoretical side of music, to help you understand how to create basslines, chord sequences and other musical parts in a particular key, then this course is for you.

Created by accomplished music producer and classically trained musician, Rob Jones, the course begins by explaining the principles of the key of a song and what major and minor scales are, before showing how that knowledge can be used to make melodies or riffs using various intervals and chords, in order to produce basslines, a main hook, lead or pad sound, to create the main groove or form the breakdown of a track.

As well as showing many examples of all of the techniques taught, which are outlined in the written notes and saved into the Maschine project files that come with the course, there are also exercise projects, for practicing identifying keys and making basslines or chord sequences, to put your newly acquired skills to the test. Check out the free lesson excerpt below before signing up, for an example of the course content and delivery…

The course is available for purchase for £19.95 GBP.

Producertech launches House Production with Maschine by Rob Jones

Producertech has launched House Production with Maschine by Rob Jones, a video tutorial course for Native Instruments Maschine.

House Production with Maschine by Rob Jones

This course takes you through all of the stages of creating a classic, melodic, deep house track with Maschine, from the initial creation of the beats, right through to exporting the final mix, with virtually the whole process done from the hardware control surface.

After the beats are constructed in the first lesson, which is available as a free sample of the course, the second lesson shows how all of the melodic parts of the track are conceived, using the main chord sequence as the basis. A lengthy vocal sample is then edited, sliced and processed to form a number of different vocal parts, used throughout the track, which is then arranged and mixed, all within Maschine.

In addition to the Maschine project from the course, there are 4 Maschine kits supplied from Loopmasters’ Niche Audio range, as well as a bonus pack of additional House samples too.

The course is available for purchase for £19.95 GBP.

Producertech announces Live Beginner-Intermediate & Advanced Level Weekends

Producertech Live weekends

Producertech has announced the first of many live teaching events, starting in November with 2 Ableton Live weekends by certified trainer Rob Jones.

These weekends, one for Beginners and one for Advanced level users, include 2 full days of training on Ableton software and music production in general, as well as instruction on Ableton’s control surface Push, free online courses and £100 worth of samples from Loopmasters.

Located in Producertech’s new UK headquarters, the Echoplex Studio complex in Eastbourne, these events allow students the opportunity to interact directly with certified trainer and online course creator Rob Jones, while he teaches the ins and outs of Live in detail to a class of no more than 16 people. Throughout the day, there will be exercises set, which students can carry out on the provided workstations or their own laptops, along with in-depth group and one-to-one mentoring to maximize students’ experiences and learning.

The first weekend, for beginner-intermediate level users will cover all of the basics of producing with Live, right from the very start. Each area will be explained comprehensively and some more complex aspects like envelopes and modulation will be introduced, so both someone starting out and those with a little experience already are suitable attendees. The second weekend then goes deeper into mixing and sound design, looking at more technical aspects of producing and performing, to take a student’s skills to the next level, and is suitable for someone who has been using Live for some time and has a reasonable grasp on this amazing software.

Ableton’s control surface Push will also be shown, so that students can see a first-hand demonstration and have an improved understanding of how it works. There will also be some demonstrations of recent hardware releases from Producertech’s sponsors Focusrite, Novation and KRK.

Every attendee will be given an online course from Producertech – the level 1 (Beginners) course for attendees of the first weekend and the level 2 (Advanced) course for the second weekend. These courses, worth £150, mean that students can continue studying online for as long as they need after the event. Any students who are already signed up to these courses will be allowed access to other Producertech courses, such as Paul Maddox’s Tech House and Techno course, up to the same value, free of charge. Furthermore, Loopmasters are kindly supplying all students with a voucher for £100 worth of sample packs of your choosing, from their enormous library of high quality samples!
