Soundiron releases Iron Pack #3 for Kontakt

Soundiron has launched Iron Pack #3, a compact yet full-featured instrument library featuring manipulated metal percussion and melodic instruments.

Soundiron Iron Pack 3

Iron Pack 03 features thirteen creative tuned percussion instruments – both short and sustained, each carefully sculpted from natural recordings we’ve made fro a wide variety of resonant metal objects and surfaces. These highly flexible patches are perfect for all styles of music, from soudtack, to experimental and atmospheric music. The final preset in the set is an awesome metallic “drum kit”, assembled from our huge Rust 3 library. We’ve included all of our favorite user controls in the Kontakt instruments, including the “Edge” knob for extreme shape transformations and the “Wind” convolution reverb selector, with 5 great halls/rooms and 5 creative FX impulses.

You’ll find regular unlocked nki presets for the full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later, as well as universal open source SFZ presets, for users who don’t own Kontakt. The SFZ presets can be used in the free Sforzando Player by Plogue, as a VST, AU, RTAS, AAX and stand-alone engine, just like Kontakt. It can also be used in the free Alchemy Player by Camel Audio! The SFZ presets offer many of the same core control features and playability, in a simpler interface, with the same great audio quality.

The Iron Pack is available for purchase for $2.99 USD until until May 15th, 2014. Requires the full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or later or an SFZ 2.0 compatible engine.

unEarthed Sampling intros Tension Hits 2

unEarthed Sampling Tension Hits 2

unEarthed Sampling has released Tension Hits 2, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Where STH focuses on soft tension filled hits from unlikely sources, TH2 focuses more on in your face loud and epic impacts. All of these impacts come from unconventional sources such as chairs, tubes, stage hits, doors, sticks, metal shelves, and candelabras. unEarthed Sampling even recorded ensemble stomps on the stage which sound “HUGE and epic”. There are no loops or phrases here, these are all multisampled recordings meticulously recorded via a matched pair mic set.

All of the samples were recorded in a large old hall built in the late 1800s. The hall is featured in the GUI art by Glyn Lloyd. All of the patches (save for one of the two stomps patches) feature 4 X RR.

The GUI features some easily tweakable controls to really change the sound of each of the patches. These tweaks include Attack, Release, Lo, Mid, and Hi gain knobs, and the indispensable pitch knob. The toggleable covolution reverb makes these sound huge and they even included 13 easily selectable impulse responses.

The library is available for purchase for $25 USD.

Soundiron releases Circle Bells 2.0 for Kontakt

Soundiron Circle Bells

Soundiron has announced the release of Circle Bells 2.0, a sample library recorded with a rare and unique instrument called “Blossom Bells” created by Pete Engelhart.

This hand-welded tuned percussion instrument features six steel conical bells that are tuned to different keys and spread out in a fan arrangement. Each bell has a deeply rich, warm and sonorous tone with a long sustain and crystalline clarity. We recorded them with soft mallets, hard picks and viola bow with both single-strikes/staccatos and rolls/sustains for each articulation.

Its distinctive sound evokes the feel of a steel Marimbaphone or Celeste when played with mallets and a glass armonica when bowed, yet its character and undulating resonance defies any direct comparison to any other instrument.

The new upgrade gives this classic tuned percussion favorite a complete upgrade and overhaul. Originally released in 2009 back at Tonehammer, this new 2.0 for Kontakt 5 now restores all of the sample content to the previously unavailable full depth, size and fidelity that was captured in the original recordings.

Now at over 5.5GB and 2893 samples, Circle Bells offers up to 10X round-robins and as many as 18 velocity layers per note, depending on the articulation. We’ve also added a big new selection of atmospheres, leads, pads, glitchified grooves and tonal sound-scapes, all crafted from the original raw acoustic source to provide beautiful sonic accompaniment and creative inspiration. We’ve programmed it into our popular modular layer-builder system giving you the power to load and customize any articulation instantly and blend it with another. We’ve also added a complete rack FX panel to further expand your creative options.

Circle Bells 2.0 is available to purchase for the introductory price of $39 USD through April 1st, 2014 (regular $59 USD). Requires the full retail version of Kontakt 5.1 or later. Existing owners of the original 1.0 can get the expansion for $5 USD through a special upgrade email.

Sonic Zest releases Glass Hand Drums

Sonic Zest has announced the release of Glass Hand Drums, a new instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Sonic Zest Glass Hand Drums

Halfway between percussion and melodic instrument sits these glass hand drums. Sonically they are reminiscent of hand drums and halo drums.

To capture beauty and quirky nature of these instruments 5x round robins and 3 velocity layers were utilised. What you hear is the sound of the drums being patted, clapped and slapped to unearth their haunting tones. A sound design patch also comes with the instrument, which produces a pad-like sound that would probably work well in a horror movie.

Sonic Zest’s Glass Hand Drums sits perfectly in any mix. It’s great to any set-up and is ideal for playing lullabies and other lead melodies that you may be working on.

The library is available to purchase for the introductory price of $16 USD.

Spaectrum Arts updates Percussion Hits to v1.1

Spaectrum Arts Percussion Hits

Spaectrum Arts has released version 1.1 of Percussion Hits, the percussion sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

19 original sounds and 18 variations have been added to the library, which now brings the total number of 150 sounds.
We have also fixed a couple of bugs in the .nki versions. We noticed that loading a DAW session didn’t always recall the settings you previously used for the tuner and the EQ knobs.

The manual 1.1 now contains the full list of sounds for easier use in looking for a specific instrument tone. (ex: Sound n°80+: Reverse FX, Bass drum, Toms (arrhythmical) & Woodblock)

And finally, a Low-pass / High-pass filter has been added, at the request of users. This will make tweaking quicker and more effective.

Percussion Hits is available to purchase for the introductory price of $39 USD (USA/World customers) / $46.80 USD for Euro customers (incl. VAT).
