Scuffham Amps has released version 2.4 of S-Gear, a collection of guitar amps, speaker cabinets and effects for Windows and Mac.
S-Gear 2.4 includes the new Custom ’57 amp, an updated ProConvolver offering new cabinet models, updated impulse loader & several other improvements.
The Custom ’57 is the new amp in S-GEAR and is inspired by the favourite Tweed amps from the late ’50s. The control line-up is very simple and dialling in great vintage tones is effortless and fun.
In the speaker emulation section we’ve re-worked the ProConvolver interface with a new layout to improve usability and workflow. The first ‘in-house’ cabinet models include the popular EVM-12L and G12-65 speakers, as well as a Tweed Deluxe cabinet loaded with Celestion and Weber Alnico speakers making a great match for the Custom ’57.
A complete rework of the impulse response import process allows you to drag and drop multiple impulses to S-GEAR. It is now super-easy to import an entire set of Redwirez impulses.
S-Gear for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/AAX) is available for purchase for $99 USD (excluding sales tax/VAT).
Scuffham Amps has released version 2.25 of S-Gear, the collection of guitar amps, speaker cabinets and effects for Windows and Mac.
The really special thing about S-Gear is the amazing high quality of guitar amp tones achieved simply by plugging your guitar into a computer via an audio interface. S-Gear gives you a professional guitar sound without the expense and hassle. We are talking about the sound of a high quality tube amp, turned up loud, and mic’d up professionally in a suitable acoustic space. S-Gear’s four boutique designed amps, coupled with accurate convolution based speaker cabinet emulation, provide a massive range of guitar tones.

Scuffham Amps has released version 2.2 of S-Gear, a collection of guitar amps, speaker cabinets and effects implemented in software for Windows and Mac.
As well as the new Wayfarer amp, this release also brings loads of other improvements and several bug fixes.
The new Wayfarer amp is easily the most versatile amp we have designed to date. It feels like having a selection of vintage Brown and Blackface Fenders, along with a MK series Boogie all rolled into the same easy to drive amp. We hope you have a lot of fun getting to know this amp, and hopefully it might inspire some new music too.
Changes in S-Gear v2.2
Tap and Tempo Sync in DelayThing.
Two Amp configurations per preset.
Improved Noise Gate.
Phase switch on Convolver channels.
CPU utilisation improvements (approximately 10% reduction for amps).
Scuffham Amps has updated its S-Gear guitar effect plug-in to version 2.1.
Headlining this release is the new RoomThing reverb unit, and if you haven’t already done so, we suggest you take a listen to Jerry Stevenson’s sound clips on YouTube. RoomThing is a versatile algorithmic reverb processor capable of producing very musical reverbs including realistic rooms and halls, big open and fresh ambient spaces, short decay effects for cabinet enhancement, and even some great sounding spring reverb emulations.
But that’s not all! S-Gear v2.1 also includes great new functionality such as saving and recalling presets for each individual device and support for drag & drop when importing presets. For all the details, download the updated manual here.
For Cubase and Nuendo fans on the MAC, this release sees the full inclusion of VST3 format with the OS X installation. We had a rather long Beta on this, but with thanks to those who helped out, the result is a really good plug-in.
