SoulViaSound releases 8080F for Reaktor

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Aug 19, 2011 - comment 0 comments

SoulViaSound has announced the release of 8080F, a side chain filter ensemble with M/S processing, built for Reaktor 5 users.

SoulViaSound 8080F

It’s a creative tool perfect for pads processing but not only. You can use it whenever you want to modulate the cutoff envelope with an audio signal. With 8080F you can process only the stereo(side) signal or for example you can apply a low pass filter on the mono(mid) signal and a high pass filter on the stereo(side) signal while the cutoff envelope is modulated independent in the mono and stereo signal. The cutoff envelope is modulate by the difference between the side chain signal and the threshold settings with your attack and release settings.

All you have to do for feeding 8080F side chain is to send an audio signal in the 3/4 inputs from Reaktor 5. You can do this in your DAW (Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, Reaper, Pro Tools) or in to you NI Maschine software. You have independent controls for the both channels (L-Mono/R-Stereo) but you can also control the filter parameter in link mode. Just press the link switch and start tweaking the left parameters.

8080F for Reaktor 5 is available to purchase for 19.99 EUR.

Voxengo updates Deft Compressor to v1.2

Voxengo Deft Compressor

Voxengo has released version 1.2 of Deft Compressor, an audio track and bus compressor plug-in for Windows and Mac.

This version added support for key signal filtering which is a very useful function that allows you to perform de-essing and use various compressor “voicings”. Feedback compression mode can be also enabled now. This mode sounds a little bit “punchier” than the default “feed-forward” mode. The “feedback” mode in many cases tends to produce a more controlled, less fluctuating sound due to its inherent “prognostic” behavior.

However, the most important addition to this version is the “Punch” parameter. While in our opinion, the original S-curve timing function was a very unique and interesting feature on the compressor plug-in market, it sounded a little bit too punchy for many users. Hence, we decided to implement a special parameter that adjusts the S-curve. The “Punch” parameter allows you to dial in a desired amount of “transient emphasis” effect, expressed in percent. When set to “100” the effect is maximal and the compressor is using the S-curve timing function. At “0” the compressor will be using a much “quicker” L-curve timing function which produces a colored bright sound.

Deft Compressor features

  • Adjustable S-curve timing function.
  • “Vintage” compression mode.
  • Feedback compression mode.
  • Auto make-up gain.
  • External side-chaining.
  • Key signal filtering.
  • Stereo and multi-channel processing.
  • Internal channel routing.
  • Channel grouping.
  • Up to 8x oversampling.
  • 64-bit floating point processing.
  • Preset manager.
  • Undo/redo history.
  • A/B comparisons.
  • Contextual hint messages.
  • All sample rates support.
  • Zero processing latency.

Deft Compressor is available to purchase for PC and Mac (VST/AU) for $89.95 USD.
