Sir Elliot Brass Instrument Equaliser

Sir Elliot has released Brass Instrument Equaliser, a freeware equalizer effect plug-in for Windows.

It was solely designed for Trombones, Saxophones, Trumpets and so forth. Jazz, & Classical Music is the concept behind this Parametric Equaliser.

There is also the option to configure the Q in a very narrow mode. This enables you to reduce peaks at certain frequencies that arise from troublesome rooms and, addressing offending frequencies from microphone feedback.

Brass Instrument Equaliser features

  • Tuneable Frequency Range: Five-fixed-band frequency contours offering a total sweep able range from 10 – 21000 cps.
  • Q Selector: Three mode selectable Q’s ranging from 0.27 (wide) – 60.36 (narrow).
  • Input Level Control.

  • Left/Right Output VU Meters.

Sir Elliot has released LRC-II and Little Black Box, two freeware effect plug-ins for Windows.

Sir Elliot LRC-II

The LRC-II is a Low Residue Compressor designed for those who do not fancy the artefacts that are common with many compressors. The LRC-II is suited for Jazz, & Dance music.

LRC-II features

  • Attack: 505 Milliseconds (Maximum).
  • Release: 0.001 Milliseconds to 5 Seconds.
  • Threshold: -90 dB (Maximum).
  • Ratio: 0.005:1 to 1.120:1 (11.20:1).
  • Loudness: 0 – 8.
  • Prevent Clip: Once enabled, all peaks will not exceed –0.1 dB. Selecting from A to B will bring forth different reactions based on the overall dynamics of the mix.
  • Fixed Delay.
Sir Elliot Little Black Box

Little Black Box is a compressor that offers low dynamics. It is more suited for Rock Music where it is common to use a lot of compression to make things louder than it appears.

  • Input Level: 0 to 11.
  • Threshold: -1.5 dB to 40 dB.
  • Ratio: 0 to 0.9:1.
  • Attack: 44 Microseconds (Maximum).

Sir Elliot CP-1 Compressor

Sir Elliot has released CP-1 Compressor, a free compressor effect plug-in for Windows.

The concept behind this design is fast responding with very minimal artefacts, which is common with many offering very fast attack/release times.

CP-1 Compressor features

  • Compression: -1 to –62 dB.
  • Attack: 1 to 40 Microseconds (200 Nanoseconds @ 0.00000 setting).
  • Release: 81 Milliseconds to 1.5 Seconds (3.5 seconds metered version).
  • Ratio: 0.5:1 to 22.40:1.
  • CP-1 is more suited for mastering due to fixed delay settings (latency compensation is possible in the host application).
  • Optimised for 96 kHz, will operate on 44100 kHz.
  • Includes non-metered version which uses less CPU and has a faster loading time.

Sir Elliot has released the Poorman’s Compressor Series II, a free compressor effect plug-in for Windows.

The Poor man’s Compressor Series II follows a different topology than the Poor man’s Compressor. This brings forth a different response in terms of reaction time and frequency response amongst the two devices.

  • Level: 0 (no sound) to +30 dB
  • Threshold: -80 dB
  • Attack: 2, 4, or 8 microseconds
  • Release: 30 milliseconds to 5 Seconds
  • Ratio: 0.05:1 (.05:1) – 5.00:1 (50.0:1)
  • Default Ratio Setting: 1.00:1 (10.0:1)
  • High Frequency Roll-off: -3 dB @ 18.3 kHz (-6.0 dB @ 20 kHz)

Sir Elliot has announced the release of Studio Q (The Snob Equalizer), a free equalizer effect plug-in for Windows.

It is designed to offer very rich tone, which is common with hardware devices. As with all hardware devices the frequency response are not always flat and, Studio Q is no exception to the rule.

The Frequency Bands are as follows: 40 cps, 60 cps, 80 cps, 120 cps, 160 cps, 240 cps, 1000 kcps, 2450 kcps, 9000 kcps and, 13500 kcps.

Sir Elliot releases Four Stage Compressor

Sir Elliot has released Four Stage Compressor, a free compressor effect plug-in for Windows.

The Four Stage Compressor consists of four compressors sitting in one chassis using the same Threshold, Ratio, Attack, & Release controls. The user has the option to select four different compressors by merely selecting Compressor A, B, C, or D and, adjusting to taste.

Please bear in mind, Sir Elliot’s Four Stage Compressor offers a fixed delay in which helps each compressor produce it’s own characteristics in terms of tone.

  • Attack Time: 0 – 300 milliseconds (LCD display will not show < 1 ms).

  • Compressor: Four-user-select independent compressors sharing the same Threshold, Ratio, Attack, & Release controls.
