Soundiron Iron Pack 01

Soundiron has released Iron Pack 01, the first in a new micro-library series.

These small yet complete instruments are designed to be affordable and accessible to everyone. We’ll be releasing new Iron Packs regularly, but each one will only be available for a very limited time, exclusively at soundiron.com. This first edition explores manipulated and atmospheric piano sounds, with a dozen excellent presets – all for under $2!

Iron Pack 01 features ten creative sustained and tuned percussion presets that we hand-crafted by heavily manipulating and warping acoustic grand piano sounds. These sounds are perfect for orchestration and sound design. We’ve also included an ultra-low memory acoustic grand piano patch drawn from our famed Emotional Piano. It gives you just a tiny, yet absolutely playable preview of that classic grand piano library.

We include standard open format presets for the full retail version of Kontakt 4 or later, as well as universal open source SFZ presets, for users who don’t own the full version of Kontakt yet. The SFZ presets can be used in the free Sforzando Player by Plogue, as a VST, AU, RTAS, AAX and stand-alone engine, just like Kontakt. It can also be used in the free Alchemy Player by Camel Audio! The SFZ presets offer many of the same core control features and playability, in a basic easy-to-use interface, with equally excellent sound quality.

Iron Pack 01 is available for purchase for $1.99 USD, until May 1st, 2014.

Soundiron releases Circle Bells 2.0 for Kontakt

Soundiron Circle Bells

Soundiron has announced the release of Circle Bells 2.0, a sample library recorded with a rare and unique instrument called “Blossom Bells” created by Pete Engelhart.

This hand-welded tuned percussion instrument features six steel conical bells that are tuned to different keys and spread out in a fan arrangement. Each bell has a deeply rich, warm and sonorous tone with a long sustain and crystalline clarity. We recorded them with soft mallets, hard picks and viola bow with both single-strikes/staccatos and rolls/sustains for each articulation.

Its distinctive sound evokes the feel of a steel Marimbaphone or Celeste when played with mallets and a glass armonica when bowed, yet its character and undulating resonance defies any direct comparison to any other instrument.

The new upgrade gives this classic tuned percussion favorite a complete upgrade and overhaul. Originally released in 2009 back at Tonehammer, this new 2.0 for Kontakt 5 now restores all of the sample content to the previously unavailable full depth, size and fidelity that was captured in the original recordings.

Now at over 5.5GB and 2893 samples, Circle Bells offers up to 10X round-robins and as many as 18 velocity layers per note, depending on the articulation. We’ve also added a big new selection of atmospheres, leads, pads, glitchified grooves and tonal sound-scapes, all crafted from the original raw acoustic source to provide beautiful sonic accompaniment and creative inspiration. We’ve programmed it into our popular modular layer-builder system giving you the power to load and customize any articulation instantly and blend it with another. We’ve also added a complete rack FX panel to further expand your creative options.

Circle Bells 2.0 is available to purchase for the introductory price of $39 USD through April 1st, 2014 (regular $59 USD). Requires the full retail version of Kontakt 5.1 or later. Existing owners of the original 1.0 can get the expansion for $5 USD through a special upgrade email.

Soundiron releases Kalimba v2.0 for Kontakt

Related: , , , Posted in news on Jan 06, 2014 - comment 0 comments
Soundiron Kalimba 2.0

Soundiron has released version 2.0 of Kalimba, a virtual instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Our two kalimbas are made of wood and coconut, with hammered steel tines suspended over sound holes. The notes span about an octave and a half for the smaller kalimba and over two octaves for the larger one. We recorded in 3 different environments: Up close in a dry recording studio; at medium distance in a small bright chamber; and in a large, long linear hall, at close (1 meter) and far (15 meters) microphone distances.

This newly updated version of the classic Soundiron Kalimba now features 62 unique soundscapes, pads, atmospheres and drones to the library, each crafted by manipulating the source recordings. These organic ambiences make the ideal accompaniment to the acoustic portion of the Kalimba library, due to the natural sonic properties they share. All of it is wrapped up in a customizable performance control system, with lots of sound-shaping tools, arpeggiation sequencing and flexible DSP effects, such as convolution, EQ, resonant filter, chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, amp and speaker simulation, distortion and compression.

This new version 2.0 comes fully-loaded with a powerful user interface system that gives you total control over transient attack, sample start offset, dynamic swelling and dual-layer mixing, tuning and real timing. The master preset includes 7 different sound sets, including plucks and strums. Each sound selection layer is fully independent, but now their controls can be linked together or split with the push of a button. The new version 2.0 now also features our ever popular arpeggiation system, with total customizability, step sequencing, humanization and preset saving and loading. And every knob, slider, menu and button in the Kalimba GUI can be automated with a simple right click of your mouse.

Kalimba is available to purchase for $19 USD through January 19th, 2014 (regular $29 USD). Requires full version of Kontakt.

Soundiron releases Phonautograms v2.0 for Kontakt

Soundiron Phonautograms v2

Soundiron has announced the release of Phonautograms v2.0, an upgraded and expanded collection of atmospheric instruments for Native Instruments Kontakt.

This historic instrument is drawn from some of mankind’s earliest known sound recordings, drawn from archival source carefully restored by First Sounds. Based on inventor Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville’s 1860 “Gamme de la Voix” vocal scale recording, this collection features playable vintage chromatic sustains, as well as newly crafted modern sound-designed creative ambient and electro-percussive content.

For the new version we’ve expanded the sample content by tenfold and added a custom Kontakt user interface that features automatable dynamic volume swelling, note attack, note release, sample start offset and pitch transposition. We also added nearly 200 MB of new ambient material crafted from the source in the form of 31 synths, evolving soundscapes and dark atmospheres. We also created a variety of newly resynthesized percussive hits and FX from the source, building a unique kit with 41 electro kicks, snares, hats, toms and fx. Our custom DSP effects rack is also featured for Kontakt, featuring customizable distortion, EQ, filter, delay and much more. The convolution reverb effect contains 70 custom-recorded environmental and FX impulse responses.

The library is available to purchase for the introductory price of $5 USD until December 25th, 2013 (regular $10 USD). During this sale, a free copy of the special edition Sleighbells multisample library (283 MB) is included with a purchase of Phonautograms.
