Soundiron has announced the release of a major update for Rust 2, a metallic percussion sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Soundiron’s Rust 2 now features the Mega Mixer master preset.

For the brand new Rust 2 version 2.0 we went through all the previous presets with the due diligence of a true obsessive-compulsive. We tweaked key-mapping, zone mapping, fading and balance to really improve on the previous incarnation of this library in every way. We’ve designed a completely customized and automatable user interface that visually responds to your performance. Now each preset offers realtime control over every aspect of the sound, allowing you to shape note Attack and sample Offset to create gentle, ghostly pad-like sounds from even the harshest impacts. The Release control let’s you tighten the sound into a sharp staccato click or ping in one moment, or a long ringing sustain the next. Tuning is easy, with the Stepping and main Tune parameters. All of our most recent technological advances are included. Our powerful Uberpeggiator allows complex, adaptive arpeggiations and you’ll find tempo-syncing resonant filter and volume LFOs build into nearly every preset. We’ve also included a parametric EQ and convolution reverb with over 50 room and FX impulses to choose from instantly.

We’ve also included our mighty Mega Mixer master preset, which lets you choose from any of the percussive elements in the library, load 10 of them dynamically, each with custom key-range, tuning and mapping to create your own ensembles, drum kits and tuned percussion orchestras. Finally, the Tuned Selector Ensemble presets give you instant access to sub-categorized collections of solo tuned percussion elements, with easy browsing and automatable instrument selection, while the standard ensemble presets lay it all out for you in convenient untuned drum-kits.

Rust 2 is available to purchase for $59 USD through December 12th, 2012 (regular $69 USD). The update is free for current owners of Rust 2.

Soundiron has announced that its Tuned Micro and Granny Piano sample libraries are now available in Reason ReFill format.

We’re happy to finally announce the arrival of our first two ReFill Packs for Reason!

We’ve worked with Propellerhead to carefully optimize and redesign our classic Old Busted Granny Piano and Tuned Micro libraries specifically for the Reason 6 platform, with Combinator and NN-XT presets that truly capture the playability and advanced control functionality that people have come to love with these popular instruments.

While ReFills and Kontakt presets have very different capabilities and strengths overall, you’ll find many of the same familiar UI features, a variety of matching presets, stylized artwork and the same great sound. And don’t worry, we’ll be adding new offerings to our Reason catalog as time goes on to expand the selection for our Reason users. Soundiron has also announced Mercury Symphonic Boychoir, a children’s choir sample library for Kontakt.

The brand new Mercury Symphonic Boychoir is quite simply the single most comprehensive, playable and powerfully sampled children’s choir ever released.

Soundiron has announced version 2.0 of Old Busted Granny Piano, an upright piano sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

We’re excited to announce the release of a major update for one of our oldest releases, Old Busted Granny Piano! This complete overhaul features lots of mapping tweaks, a new user interface and integration of all of our latest technology.

For the brand new 2.0 version of our Granny Piano, we’ve tweaked the mapping and layering to make it feel more responsive and natural, combined the “Tuned” and “Untuned” versions into a single preset with an easy Tuning mode switch and implemented our proprietary voice management technology to minimize noise-floor build-up while maintaining performance. We’ve also incorporated a full range of user controls to allow total sonic shaping, and fine control over every detail of the sound.

Soundiron has announced the release of Angklung and Sick 3: Dark Places, two new sample libraries for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Angklung is a unique instrument from Indonesia with a particular, short bamboo percussive flavor. At 3.5GB and over 6700 samples, our Angklung library features both dry studio and wet hall recordings. The Hall recordings also features three blendable mic positions and sustaining rattles with releases.

Our Sick series has evolved to a whole new level with the release of Sick 3, just in time for Halloween. Sick 3 features 4.39GB of professional dark/suspense/horror environments and over 300 custom convolution impulses. We also hand-crafted horrific demonic creatures, feverish states of sonic delirium, monstrously shambling slavering hordes and discordant fever dreams.

Soundiron has introduced The Drinking Piano, a piano sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

This fat-bottomed monster upright has a classic beer hall sound, evoking that signature sound of the roaring 20s and pre-war 30s. Captured with a historic Ivors & Pond upright, it has all of the wear and tear that you’d expect from a hundred-year-old instrument that has been played hard and put away wet, night after night, decade after decade. With a bassy, wide and fully present sound, we put you right on the old bench with the well-worn, cracked ivories under your fingers. We recorded it with large-diaphragm mics on the strings in a small hall, giving it all the body of a dry studio recording with just a hint of live ambiance in the tail.

The years of alcohol-fueled revelry have been less than kind to this once stately instrument. With worn and rickety key action, unreliable dampers, loose pedal mechanics, wear hardened felts, the occasional misaligned hammer and decades of baked-in dust, every key has all the character and frailty of a hundred-year-old bartender. But beneath the beer stains and cigarette burns, this massive aging troubadour has a substantial pedigree. It’s an original Ivors and Pond model from the dawn of the 20th century, made of solid mahogany, with expert hand-craftsmanship and detail rarely seen in any modern uprights.

We’ve included standard and Lite presets, along with 16 special custom FX patches that take the sound in new directions. The Drinking Piano features the latest version of our Uberpeggiator arp system, optional tempo synching tremolo and resonant filter LFOs, custom convolution reverbs, parametric EQ and standard performance shaping parameters. Note Attack and Offset allow you to tighten the sound and create pad-like effects. You also have complete control over release timing and volume with extended decay settings, as well as separate pedal and hardware SFX.

Micro-tuning and stereo-imaging allow you to fine-tune how the piano sits in your mix with other instruments. The special Sober/Drunk switch gives you the ability to instantly tighten the sound wiping away years of wear and tear or hear the piano as it naturally sounds; a bit rough around the edges. The Tuned/Untuned switch corrects the tuning of the entire piano, getting it about as close as it will ever be again to 440 and fixing the misaligned hammer action that can be heard souring a few notes here and there.
