Spitfire Audio releases BML Trumpet Corps Vol. 1

Spitfire Audio BML Trumpet Corpse Vol. 1

Spitfire Audio has released Trumpet Corps Vol. 1, a new British Modular Library series instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Following in the trailblazing footsteps of BML BONES – VOL #1, with essential articulations for trombone, BML TRUMPET CORPS – VOL #1 represents the eleventh instalment in Spitfire Audio’s ongoing BML series of virtual instruments for Mac (OS X 10.6 or higher) and PC (Windows 7), and, as implied by name, turns the critically-acclaimed compositional tools creator’s attention to essential articulations for trumpet.

As the latest jewel in the BML crown, this first volume features three of the finest players in London performing with magical musical zest and astounding character using the finest instruments — one recorded solo and two in unison (a2), seated exactly in situ so combining the resultant a2 patches with the solo ones makes for a slightly larger section while maintaining spacial integrity — using the exceptional acoustics at Lyndhurst Hall — highly regarded as one of the greatest scoring stages in the world — within London’s legendary Air Studios by award-winning producer/engineer extraordinaire Jake Jackson.

The library is available for purchase for £249 GBP (excl. VAT).

Spitfire releases Sable – “Ensembles” for Kontakt

Spitfire Sable -

Spitfire Audio has announced the release of Sable – “Ensembles”, an instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

We have cherry picked the most esssential and popular articulations from this blue chip library to make Sable available in an “ensembles format” for the first time. Each articulation has been painstakingly re-mixed to get the best balance of sections with no audible transitions between them. At last we can not only work these into our arrangements and orchestrations but actually compose with them from the get go too.

BML Sable is a totally unique and very special string series that concentrates on extreme detail, beauty and nuance. Made up from a small band (4,3,3,3) of the finest players London has to offer and recorded at Air Studios, one of the greatest recording studios in the world. Sable is part of the British Modular Range, arguably the greatest sounding ultra-deep-sampled orchestral range on the planet today.

Ensembles is made up of the “greatest hits” of the four volumes released thus far. From simple longs, longs muted, staccatos and spiccatos, to the beguiling flautando, sul tasto and harmonics. For users unfamiliar with the Sable range this is the opportunity to taste the riches of it whilst having the non fussy ease-of-use of an ensemble range. With the ensemble playing 15 different articulations all with full Sable spec vibrato, dynamic and round robin control, with 4 stereo mic positions, 20,996 samples giving 42.4 hours of pure content, 40.9GB uncompressed 24 bit data with a lossless compressed download size of 28.4GB.

The library is available for purchsae for the introductory price of £199 GBP until July 1st, 2014 (regular £249 GBP). Existing Sable users will receive an additional 20% off voucher for this library.

Spitfire releases PP010 – Rare Groove Piano

Spitfire Rare Groove Piano

Spitfire Audio has launched Rare Groove Piano, a new sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

If rare groove is your bag, this vintage and super primitive Vox electric piano, finger bass and electro-harpsichord will be a vital addition to your funk arsenal.

This 1960′s electric piano has been given a total Spitfire “once-over” (608 groups, 19638 zones, 8940 samples, 25065 seconds / 418 minutes / 7.0 hours, 6880 mb / 6.72 gb!!) with us deep sampling the unit to give you as close a replication of its sound possible via the finest Neve Pre-Amps and Cranesong AD converters. Alongside a host of additional signal paths via rarefied vintage outboard that fit with the style of the instrument.

As the Vox E.P. doesn’t sound the same every time play it, we have painstakingly recorded it with numerous round robins. We have isolated each sound; first the piano, then the harpsichord and finally the bass. We then scripted a mixer that behaves just as it does on the instrument itself. Mix and blend the Harpsichord and Piano, or switch in the Bass to play in split keyboard mode, which you can then mix and blend.

We have modelled the vibrato found on the instrument and have given you both intensity and speed controls for this.

Vintage outboard signal paths include a Telefunken Spring Reverb, a Roland Dimension D specially shipped from Japan, re-amping into a marshall JV combi series via fine BBC Coles ribbon mics, and the modern classic that is the Thermionic Culture Vulture.

The library is available for purchase for the introductory price of £20 until July 1st, 2014 (regular £25 GBP).
