Producertech In the Studio with DJ Santé

Producertech has announced In the Studio with DJ Santé, a new course that uncovers the secrets behind making a classic house track, by one of Berlin’s hottest up and coming DJs and Producers, Santé.

The latest online course in the Producertech Presents series is a brand new set of tutorials, shot live in the studio of Santé, one of Berlin’s hottest rising stars. In the course, Santé shows how he constructed the classic house track ‘Do You Wanna 808′ with his preferred music software platform, Ableton Live.

The first movie teaches how to create and edit the main building blocks for the track, those being the beats, bassline and other loops and sounds, which are then mixed and processed in the following tutorial. Then, all parts are arranged in a lengthy lesson that shows how to construct the track, by creating breakdowns, rises in tension and huge, dancefloor-destroying drops, whilst also ensuring the track has good continuity and flow. The last tutorial shows how to make final adjustments and some quick and easy ways of preparing a track for uploading or sending to a label, using Live’s various mastering effects.

The course is available to purchase at Music-Courses.

UNTERLASS Studio Furniture expands studio furniture range

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Jan 03, 2013 - comment 0 comments

UNTERLASS Studio Furniture has announced availability of the MONO 16 and MONO 30 floor racks for its flexible range of quality professional products.

Today’s budget-conscious climate has resulted in many musicians choosing to record in their own highly- personalised workspaces, often at home. Design consciousness is arguably at an all-time high, but what do you do when what you want does not exist? Why, design and build it yourself, of course! Which is exactly what Austrian Arno Unterlass did: UNTERLASS Studio Furniture by name, studio furniture by nature.

Hot on the heels of the company’s successful DUODESK 60 launch product — billed as being a one-man media production workspace for recording, mastering, and mixing — and clever, keyboard- accommodating DUODESK 60 KEY follow-up comes two matching floor racks to accompany either of those desks… perfect for those who just can’t get enough outboard!

Unterlass MONO 16

As implied by name, the MONO 16 features a slightly-angled, front-facing floor-level vertical 16HE rack (and a rear-mounted horizontal 4HE rack) with a flat surface area above to accommodate whatever users wish to position on there (within reason).

Its modular design means that multiple MONO 16s can be neatly lined up alongside one another to easily expand the system (if and when the need arises).

Unterlass MONO 30

Meanwhile, the MONO 30 takes a different design approach, perfectly mirroring the end profile of both the DUODESK 60 and DUODESK 60 KEY desks for expansion purposes.

It includes 30HE of rack space, shared across its 10-degree-angled desktop-mounted rack (10HE), front-facing floor-level vertical rack (16HE), and rear-mounted horizontal rack (4HE).

Optional white (alternative colour) or ‘Zebrano’ (deluxe wooden) finishes enhance the look and feel of the MONO 16 and MONO 30. Pricing upon request.

The MONO 16 and MONO 32 are available to purchase for 540 EUR / 690 EUR respectively (excluding VAT). Production time is approximately four weeks from order placement, and shipping is available from 100 EUR (excluding VAT), depending on destination. Both racks are securely supplied flat-packed in a wooden crate with instructions for relatively simple self-assembly.

UNTERLASS introduces keyboardists’ dream desk: DUODESK KEY 60

Unterlass Duodesk Key 60

Unterlass Studio Furniture has announced the Duodesk Key 60, the latest addition to its flexible range of quality professional products proudly manufactured in Austria.

Hot on the heels of the company’s successful DUODESK 60 launch product — billed as being a one-man media production workspace for recording, mastering, and mixing — comes the DUODESK 60 KEY. Confirms company founder Arno Unterlass: “The DUODESK 60 was the first furniture I designed and built; the next step was to integrate a keyboard shelf capable of handling heavy master keyboards. After a lot of research and prototype-building, the DUODESK KEY 60 was born. Its pull-out drawer enables composers and songwriters to work with large master keyboards, which can be rolled out from underneath the desk surface. An industrial- engineered guidance system ensures the necessary stability and strength required to handle the static and dynamic loads imposed at very low installation heights.”

The DUODESK KEY 60 is available as standard in a silk matt black lacquered finish for €2,225.00 EURO (excluding VAT). Featuring a cleverly-concealed cable management system, its two 10-degree-angled desktop-mounted side racks (10HE each), two front-facing floor-level vertical side racks (12HE each), and two rear-mounted horizontal racks (4HE each) all amount to a lot of rack space — surely enough to satisfy most recording requirements, while its ergonomic shape, look, and feel simplifies workflow. The height- adjustable keyboard drawer can comfortably accommodate master keyboards up to 170cm wide and 16cm high — including the likes of Doepfer Musikelektronik’s monstrous, heavy-duty flight-cased, 88-note LMK4+ example, with the front of the desk’s armrest panel being custom profiled to exactly match the purchaser’s master keyboard.

Unterlass Duodesk Key 60

DUODESK KEY 60 features

  • Keyboard drawer adjustable in height.
  • Max. keyboard width / height: 170 / 16cm.
  • Linear guidance system.
  • Feet adjustable in height.
  • Cable-Management.
  • Elaborately coated surface of the table legs.
  • Open access to the rear sides.
  • Up to 52 RU for Outboard Equipment.
  • Rackunits Top/Sideracks: 2 x 10HE (10°).
  • Rackunits Floor/Sideracks: 2 x 12HE vertical.
  • Rackspace Back: 2 x 4HE horizontally.
  • Configurable in width: +20 und +50cm (options available).

The Duodesk Key 60 is available to purchase for 2,225 EUR.
Production time is approximately four weeks from order placement, and shipping is available from 100 EUR, depending on destination. Prices excluding VAT.
