Tonebuilder has introduced Driven Machine Drums: FR-909, a free sample pack featuring the sounds of the Roland TR-909 drum machine.
This is a new capture/take on the ever popular TR-909, this time combining outboard vintage NOS tubes and body compression in parallel. Those signals are then combined and fed into a high-end mastering equalizer to further glue, shape, and focus the sound.
The entire 549 sound collection in 16-bit, 44.1kHz WAV format is available here, complimentary.

Tonebuilder has announced the release of two new official versions of its Driven Machine Drums STRIKES BACK!! electronic drum and percussion sample library, now supporting Ableton Live and the Octatrack performance sampler by Elektron.
The Ableton Live version contains the complete 2,270 custom one-shot sound library along with 22 Drum Racks.
Elektron Octatrack receives a 24-bit/44.1kHz version with 2,270 custom drum samples optimized for Elektron Octatrack playback levels.
The sample library costs $77 USD (Standard) / $87 USD (Deluxe). Limited copies are available.
ToneBuilder has released DMD-Free, a free mini-collection of 66 new drum sounds.
Comes with 24-bit Wav/Aif, 16-bit Wav + 24-bit EXS-24 and Kontakt Mappings.
Make sure to play with the envelopes on your sampler/software. Like Driven Machine Drums STRIKES BACK!!, the samples will repond like compressors/gates by adjusting the hold and decay stages. (AHD envelopes)
The samples also have carefully textural changes so you can easily achieve 10+ natural/organic variations per sample with different envelope settings… like hardware.
