Soundiron updates High School Drumcorps sample library to v2.0

Soundiron High School Drumcorps

Soundiron has updated its High School Drumcorps classic marching drum line percussion library with a whole new look and design.

Drumcorps captures the powerful, tight sound of a marching band drum section, with that instantly recognizable hard punch and snap. Our goal was not simply put you in the crowd, but to get you right down in the drum line with the sticks in your hands, from the rehearsal hall all the way to the big game.

You’ll find a full collection of articulations for tuned marching bass drums (20″ – 36″), 14″ marching snares, a 42″ concert bass drum and full ensemble. There are snare and bassdrum rolls, crescendos, strikes, rim clicks, rimshots and more. We recorded the drum section in close, wide stereo, in a large band hall and out on the football field. As a bonus, we’ve also included live marching bands and parade ambiences. This library has all the flavor and verve of a classic high school marching band drum line, with plenty of pop, crack, whump and boom to bring your tracks alive.

Soundiron High School Drumcorps
The version 2.0 redesign adds a full user interface & powerful new arpeggiation, ensemble building, room simulation, tone and articulation shaping features.

New in High School Drumcorps 2.0

  • Full user interface including tone and convolution reverb controls for total control over every aspect of the sound and performance.
  • Powerful Megamixer interface, allowing you to create custom ensembles with up to 12 drums, with individual key-mapping, tuning, panning, release control, shaping and mixing and dynamic sample loading for optimal resource use.
  • Specialized version of the Uberpeggiator arp system, with a new “EZ-Roll” mode that allows dynamic bpm-based roll creation, with velocity swelling, humanization control and much, much more.
  • Brightened and tightened sound and additional flexibility to the bass and snare roll and crescendo articulations.

The High School Drumcorps library for Kontakt is available to purchase for the introductory price of $39 USD until August 7th, 2012 (regular $49 USD). The upgrade to the new version is free for all existing owners of High School Drumcorps – including those who originally ordered it from Tonehammer.

Tonehammer closes with 50% Sale, 8Dio and Soundiron launching

Tonehammer

Tonehammer has announced it is closing business, ending with a limited time 50% off sale.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are here to make three announcements.

The passing away of Tonehammer. The birth of two separate companies and a final sale at 50% off some of our most popular libraries, which lasts until July 31st 2011.

Essentially we’ve decided to take sampling in different directions, which means you will have even more and diverse sample catalogs to choose from.

Tonehammer will cease to exist on August 1st 2011. All Tonehammer sample libraries however will be carried forward by two new separate companies:

8Dio (by Troels Folmann)
Soundiron (by Mike Peaslee)

The two companies will officially re-launch all Tonehammer products on August 1st 2011 – and don’t worry – you will continue to receive full and ongoing support for all libraries you’ve purchased from us.

Tonehammer Sale

Tonehammer is also offering a free copy of its latest and final library Cathedral of Junk to those who make a purchase before August 1st.

It’s a symphony of tuned scrap and found sounds captured at (and including) one of the most unique pieces of living art/architecture we’ve ever seen. It’s 440 MB and contains 20 unique instrument sets, plus a large bonus collection of evolving ambient drone instruments. Simply order any item in our store and we’ll send you a free discount code for the library (expires 7/31/11).

Tonehammer releases Laundronium for Kontakt

Tonehammer has released Laundronium, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

Tonehammer Laundronium

The idea of the washing machine as a piece of musical equipment, while not unheard of, has been fairly limited in its scope. Generally you’ll see the white cube playing a rudimentary spin cycle beat behind a mediocre guitarist who is only vaguely aware of the naturally occurring music which is constantly present in our modern human environment. The washing machine will play this beat dutifully, knowing that it isn’t respected for musical talent like its ancestor the washboard.

We spend so much less time with the modern washing machine, than the folks of previous generations did with the washboard, that we’ve become coldly detached from it. The washing machine happily does all the work, never complaining, and still we complain about laundry day. If we just took a little time to talk to our washing machines we may find out that they are quite into music. And not just Zydeco, either. As it happens, the washing machine is as far beyond the washboard in musical capabilities as it is in laundering talent.

Laundronium features

  • 47 kontakt .nki files (open format).
  • 1045 samples.
  • 1.22 GB installed.
  • 44.1 kHz stereo PCM wav format (24 bit).
  • Custom Convolution Reverb Impulses.
  • Bowed and Plucked, stringed articulations.
  • Finger and Mallet Tuned and Untuned Percussion Articulations.
  • Powerful Custom Performance, legato, FX, and arpeggiator controls.
  • Note: Native Instruments Kontakt 3.5 (or later) full retail versions required.
  • Note: The free Kontakt Player does NOT support this product.

Laundronium is available to purchase for the introductory price of $29 USD until 5th June, 2011 (regular price $35 USD).
