Total Composure has released the Total Composure Orchestra free Kontakt sample library, its entry for the KVR Developer Challenge 2012.
The Total Composure orchestra (TCO) is a full orchestral sample library created using only samples that are in the public domain. Total Composure is the first to offer such a library exclusively for the Kontakt format; making use of Kontakt’s scripting capabilities to greatly enhance the playability, realism, and functionality of these public domain samples.
The scripting aims to provide similar functionality across the different instrument groups, whatever the instrument; while more specific settings play to the strength of each instrument.
Total Composure has released Ramparts Ruined Castles, a collection of physically modelled impulse responses from ten ruined medieval castles.
It contains over 80 impulse recordings, including individual left and right stereo files, combined stereo files, and true stereo quad files.
We provide both front and rear microphone positions allowing you to make full use of almost any high quality surround sound convolution reverb unit.
Using proprietary physical modelling synthesis software we are able to create highly realistic impulse responses of spaces that don’t exist, or no longer exist, in the real world.
For this collection we studied floor plans, descriptions, maps, and photographs of ten ruined medieval castles from around the UK and crafted synthesised models, restoring the buildings to their original design.
The impulse response library is available to purchase for £4.99 GBP.
Total Composure has released Enigma, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Our curious library is a collection of percussive hits on objects not usually thought of as musical, sometimes described as found sounds. We also included a couple of reversed and processed hits, and one or two longer looped samples here and there. To help get you started we added a few multis too!
There are over 2000 (24bit, 48Khz) stereo samples in this library. Recorded at 8 dynamic levels with 4 round robin repetitions. As a bonus we included 6 stereo impulse responses from our Mirkverb collection, set up for use with Kontakt’s convolution reverb.
Enigma for Kontakt is available to purchase for £54.99 GBP.
