Tracktion releases Master Mix plugin

Tracktion DSP has announced the release of Master Mix, a professional stereo mastering plugin that offers multi-band dynamics processing and equalization.

Tracktion Master Mix

It has three individual dynamics processors, each with its own set of controls and selectable crossover points. It also has two separate six-band parametric EQs, one located before the dynamics section, and the other after.

Each dynamics band is typically used as a compressor, but expansion is also possible. An intuitive dynamics contour edit screen provides easy setup of your compressor parameters and allows you to create the perfect soft knee curve. Master Mix also offers a simple to use noise gate and a soft-clip limiter.

With intuitive screens and controls, Master Mix promises to be one of your most invaluable tools. It can take your projects to new heights.

Master Mix is available for purchase for $59.99 USD. An introductory 50% discount is available for a limited time.

Tracktion 5 recording software released

Related: , , , , , , Posted in news on Feb 03, 2014 - comment 0 comments

Tracktion Software Corporation has announced the release of Tracktion Version 5 (T5).

Tracktion 5
This eagerly awaited update to the popular Tracktion recording application combines an intuitive workflow with a ground-breaking feature set at a remarkable price.

“Our intention from the start has been to enable rapid capture and manipulation of musical ideas,” explained Julian Storer, Tracktion creator and co-founder of TSC. “To that end, Tracktion 5 eliminates barriers to the creative flow as it solves a number of problems that have long plagued the multi-track recording process.”

For instance, the need to create sub-mixes in order to free-up resources for additional tracks is now eliminated by T5’s revolutionary ‘Edit Clip’ format (left). This allows users to embed multi-track material as if it were a single audio clip – while allowing the source material to be edited. This makes even complex song arrangement a breeze and greatly improves the use of system resources.

To make the best possible use of your computer’s capabilities and achieve professional results without dedicated, external DSP, T5 introduces a full blown System Resource Manager and unique ‘Freeze Point’ technology. This gives the user precise control over which session elements should be automatically pre-rendered, so that they can reduce CPU load while retaining mixing/editing flexibility. The result is surprisingly low latency playback regardless of session size.

While MIDI is not new to digital recording, T5 includes a greatly enhanced set of MIDI capabilities. Creating beats with any of your favorite plug-ins has never been easier with a new “In-line Step Sequencer” (right) that can be viewed and edited right in the timeline like any other clip. The piano-roll editor has also been overhauled to include a raft of new features such as “Per-note Automation” and rapid “MIDI Learn” for easy integration with hardware controllers. There is even support for next-generation instruments such as ROLI’s Seaboard with MDC (multi-dimensional control).

Tracktion 5 has hundreds of new features – including ARA integration for Celemony Software’s Melodyne, rapid audio comping, track presets and much more.

T5 for Windows, Mac and Linux is available to purchase for $59.99 USD; upgrades are $29.99 USD.

Tracktion Software announces Linux Support (Public Beta)

Tracktion Software has announced that a public beta for its Tracktion 4 music production software is now available for Linux.

Tracktion 4 in Linux
Tracktion for Linux features 64-bit performance, compatible with all native Linux VST and LADSPA (no GUI) plug-ins.

Continuing the momentum that began with a brand re-launch and release of Tracktion 4 last January, followed by a recent bundling agreement with Behringer, Tracktion Software Corporation (TSC) is pleased to announced yet another milestone for their popular music creation software.

Beginning immediately, Tracktion 4 is available for 64-bit Linux systems. This release—along with the current 64 and 32-bit versions available for Mac and Windows—solidifies Tracktion’s position within a very small family of music creation applications to broadly support all three of the major operating systems.

“Linux users, much like Tracktion users, have always been on the cutting edge of technology and willing to look beyond the status quo for alternative solutions,” explained Julian Storer, creator and chief developer of Tracktion software. “In that spirit, bringing Tracktion to Linux just makes sense. I’m extremely excited to open a whole new community to the joy of music creation in their preferred environment.”

With a powerful and elegant single-screen interface, Tracktion forgoes the complex, multi-screened designs that have been standard for conventional DAW’s since developers first digitized tape-based workflows over 20 years ago. Tracktion replaces this paradigm of the past with a modern, drag-and-drop interface that dramatically simplifies the recording, editing and mixing process. Truly unique, Tracktion has earned a loyal following of users who appreciate its power, simplicity and unique ability to unburden the creative process.

Tracktion 4 for Mac, Windows and Linux is available to purchase $59.99 USD. An upgrade from previous versions is $29.99 USD.

The Tracktion 4 Linux version is initially free to everyone during the current public beta phase at www.tracktion.com/linux (scroll to bottom of page). Tracktion 4 is also free with the purchase of select interfaces, mixers and control surfaces from Behringer and Mackie.
