TwistedWave has announced TwistedWave Online, a browser-based audio editor application.

There is a new member to the TwistedWave family. After the Mac and iOS platforms, TwistedWave Online is coming to the web browser, compatible with Safari, Chrome, Firefox or IE9.

TwistedWave Online is almost ready, and needs your help making sure everything works fine. If you want to help me testing it, you can access it there: https://twistedwave.com/online/

You can start using it right away, and edit audio files up to 30 seconds in length. During the beta period, you can increase that limit to 20 minutes by creating a free account.

TwistedWave updated to v1.10 + TwistedWave Remote, TwistedWave iOS updated to v1.2

TwistedWave Remote

TwistedWave, an audio editor for Mac, was updated to version 1.10, including the release of the TwistedWave Remote app for iOS.

TwistedWave Remote is a new iPhone application that can be used to remotely control TwistedWave. You can use it to start and stop playback or recording. It will also allow you to place markers while you are playing back audio, or in the middle of a recording session.

Changes in TwistedWave v1.10

  • Upgraded to DIRAC 3 Pro, for a faster speed and better quality when pitch shifting or time stretching.
  • Added support for saving mp2 files.
  • Added the TwistedWave Remote, to remotely control TwistedWave from an iPhone.
  • Added the ability to append files together when multiple files are selected from the open dialog.
  • It is now possible to drag/drop files directly from iTunes.
  • Added the volume and loop toolbar items.
  • YouTube import was fixed.
  • Fixed a problem with the RemoveDC effect.

Changes in TwistedWave iOS v1.2

  • New export options:
    • It is possible to send an audio file to Dropbox.
    • Email a link or upload by FTP an mp3 file encoded and hosted online on twistedwave.com.
    • Browser access to allow downloading and uploading files from/to TwistedWave with a browser on your computer.
  • More effects:
    • Delay effect.
    • Compressor/limiter effect.
    • Pitch shifting/time stretching with DIRAC.
  • Better support for large files
    • Previously, when you were recording large files, TwistedWave could get out of memory, and would quit. Now, it is possible to record for many hours. The only limit is the storage capacity for the audio file.
    • Furthermore, when reopening a large document, one hour long or more, TwistedWave should now be much more faster.
  • TwistedWave remembers the position and selection when you reopen a document.
  • Added buttons to cut, crop and loop the audio.
  • The cursor and selection are automatically adjusted to zero crossings to avoid clicks when copy/pasting audio.

TwistedWave, the audio editor for Mac, has been updated to version 1.9.1.

What makes TwistedWave unique is its ability to deal with very large files. You don’t have to wait until TwistedWave has finished loading a file or applying an effect before you can start playing the result, or applying another effect.

TwistedWave, audio editor now on iPhone and iPad

TwistedWave has announced the availability of an iPhone/iPad version of the audio software for Mac.

TwistedWave for iOS allows you to record and edit audio. It is based on the same engine as TwistedWave for MacOS X, and is therefore also very fast and responsive. Moving around and zooming in the waveform is very fluid.

TwistedWave for iOS features

  • Copy and paste your audio.
  • Undo/redo instantly.
  • Amplify or normalize the audio to a given level.
  • Add fades in or fades out.
  • Apply different kinds of filters to adjust the level of the low or high frequencies.

TwistedWave, an audio editor for Mac, was updated to version 1.9.

The main new features are the support for VST plugins, the ability to import YouTube soundtracks, and support for .wmv, .flv, .ac3 and Audiobook .m4b files with chapters, and speech synthesis.

Audio editor for Mac TwistedWave was updated to version 1.8.

The main new features being the availability of a 64-bit version of TwistedWave, automatically splitting a sound file by detecting silences, and the ability to export iPhone ringtone files.

Changes in TwistedWave v1.8

  • New Features:
    • Automatically split a sound file by detecting silences.
    • A 64-bit version is available.
    • Exporting iPhone ringtone files.
  • Improvements:
    • Seting a default zoom when opening documents.
    • Editing the selection by dragging its edges.
    • Option to keep the processing tail when applying an effect stack.
    • Once an effect stack was applied, it becomes bypassed.
  • Fixes:
    • The sound level could be reduced when using the “Change Pitch and Speed” effect.
    • Recording or playing could stop working if an audio device is unplugged/replugged, or when the computer goes to sleep.
    • Auto extend to crossing didn’t work when playing audio.
    • Saving 8bit aiff files was broken.
    • Reading markers would fail for certain WAV files.
    • Importing markers was broken.

TwistedWave updated to v1.7

TwistedWave batch processing

TwistedWave, the audio editor for Mac, was updated to version 1.7.

As for all the updates released so far, TwistedWave 1.7 is freely available for all the registered users. It contains a number of new features, fixes and improvements, the most important ones being the new support for batch processing, and the DIRAC Time Stretch/Pitch Shift technology, licensed from The DSP Dimension, one of the best pitch shifting implementations, an excellent replacement for Apple’s built in pitch shifting algorithms.

Changes in TwistedWave v1.7

    • Batch processing.
    • Support for DIRAC time stretching/pitch shifting and automatic pitch correction.
    • Exporting waveform images.
    • Support for saving WMA files.
    • Added support for the MS and IMA4 ADPCM codec.
  • Improvements
    • Clicking on a marker moves the cursor.
    • Selecting markers in the markers window selects the corresponding audio regin.
    • Prevent doing a selection by mistake when doing a simple click.
  • Fixes
    • Fixed a problem exporting CAF AAC and IMA4 files.

    • TwistedWave failed recovering a session where the signal generator was used.

    • When using the special paste, the cursor could move to the start of the file in some cases.
