Urs Heckmann of u-he has announced its new website, which is scheduled to launch this June.
The old website was nice and all, but it was also very old and hard to maintain. It was mostly hand-coded, which bloats once you’ve got more than two product pages to care for. Product pages were spread across several domains. Slowly there would be a lack of corporate identity. Embracing the new u-he logo was a painful act with the old page, so it never happened.
Now we have a real content management system, we have a consolidated website with all products and services in one single spot. Each product has its own page, with condensed information, better presentation, fresh media content and everything.
Also, we’re taking the interactive path with our customer support tool, newsletter via MailChimp, social network services like Twitter and Facebook – hopefully improved service in general…
It has been a good year for rekkerd.org, and me personally (for those who don’t know, it’s just me running this site).
Some short stats on 2010:
I managed to churn out close to 3,200 posts, a slight increase over the 2,900 posts from 2009.
35 sample libraries and plugins got reviewed, I organized three music production contests, and posted four free sample packs.
Rekkerd also started hosting a bunch more freeware plug-ins, including Fretted Synth and Lost Technology.
The rekkerd SoundCloud page seems to have become a more active place over the year, and I’m happy to read many of you enjoyed the few tunes I miraculously found the time for to do.
Despite having terrible social networking skills the site’s Twitter page just went 1,000+ followers, and I signed up for FaceBook even though everyone and their mother seems to dislike it for privacy issues or whatever.
Anyway, this is not why I wanted to write this post.
Whether you come here for the latest news, for free samples and plugins, visiting incidentally or many times a day, I just wanted to say …
… for visiting and supporting rekkerd throughout 2010.
May 2011 be a most wonderful year for you and yours, full of new musical adventures. Hope to see you again in the new year!
Korg has released version 2.1 of AudioGate, an audio format conversion application for Windows and Mac.
AudioGate has been the ideal partner for the KORG MR series of DSD recorders, allowing you to record in the ultra-high-resolution DSD format and then down- convert to the most suitable format for your needs. It was created to bring out the unlimited potential of a DSD master, and has become an indispensible DSD recording tool used by studios worldwide.
Now, everyone can experience the advantages of DSD audio with the new version of AudioGate, which can operate as a free standalone application. Go ahead — download a favorite song in DSD format, and enjoy ultimate audio quality and flexibility with AudioGate on nearly any computer.
AudioGate v2.1 can be freely downloaded and used by anyone, but either a KORG MR series product or a valid Twitter account is required in order to activate the software.
TeamDNR has announced Ammunition, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
We’re getting ready to release our new drum library, called Ammunition for Kontakt 4+ and we’ve put together a few demos and a teaser video which we’ll post here over the next few days.
Our aim with this project was to create a package of fundamental drum sounds and focus on layering and building the sounds within Kontakt, all around a 10MB download.
TeamDNR is offering a chance to win Ammunition until 10 October, 2010.
Go to our Facebook page and post a message on our wall, or to our Twitter profile and retweet our last post, and you’ll automatically be entered to win a copy of our new drum library.
Send an Email or use social networks Twitter, or Facebook. Listen to some tunes at SoundCloud, or subscribe to the RSS feed to get all the lastest news in your news reader.
