Valhalla DSP ValhallaRoom

Valhalla DSP has released version 1.0.7 of ValhallaRoom, adding two new “Dark” reverb mode to the algorithmic reverb effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

As the names suggest, they are dark. All frequencies above 1/4 the sampling rate are completely attenuated. The modulated delays are cleaner than the deliberately dirty delay modulation used in Dark Room. The modulation in both modes is more balanced than the modulation used in Dark Room, resulting in less random pitch shifts and more of a “detuned” decay.

Dark Chamber has a fairly even initial echo density. In this way, it is similar to the Large Chamber reverb mode, but with deeper modulation and a much bigger size. Dark Space has a lower initial echo density, and can have a bit of a delay of the onset of reverberation with high settings of Late Size. This also results in a wide stereo image.

Changes in ValhallaRoom v1.0.7

  • Fixed a GUI bug in older versions of Pro Tools (7.3/7.4).
  • Improved interpolation quality for PPC versions of ValhallaRoom.
  • Improved “short names” in Pro Tools insert/send windows. The shortened name now shows up as “VRoom” instead of “Valh.”
  • Two new reverb modes: Dark Chamber and Dark Space.

ValhallaRoom for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) is available to purchase for $50 USD.

Valhalla DSP updates ValhallaRoom reverb plugin to v1.0.6

Valhalla DSP ValhallaRoom

Valhalla DSP has released version 1.0.6 of ValhallaRoom, a versatile, true stereo algorithmic reverb plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Sounds range from tight ambiences and rooms, through traditional hall and plate sounds, all the way up to vast modulated spaces. The algorithm designs have been influenced by some of the “classic” room simulation boxes, as well as state of the art modern theory.

Changes in ValhallRoom v1.0.6

  • Dark Room – a new reverb mode added to V1.0.6. A hybrid between the grungy early digital reverbs and the modern algorithms found in ValhallaRoom, with reduced high frequency content, noisy yet lush randomized modulation, a HUGE spatial image, echo density ranging from grungy to dense while retaining clarity, and tons of mojo.
  • Some bug fixes.

ValhallaRoom is available to purchase for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS), priced at $50 USD.

Valhalla DSP ValhallaRoom

Valhalla DSP has released version 1.0.4 of ValhallaRoom, a true stereo algorithmic reverb effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

ValhallaRoom is a versatile, true stereo algorithmic reverb. It features several original reverberation algorithms and has been designed from the ground up to produce a wide range of natural reverberation sounds.

Changes in ValhallaRoom v1.0.4

  • Windows RTAS format. ValhallaRoom is now available in all major formats for PC (VST32/VST64/RTAS) and OSX (AU/AU64/VST/RTAS).
  • Mix lock functionality. The red “MIX” label above the Mix slider is clickable. Clicking on the Mix label allows the user to lock/unlock the Mix value, so that a given mix level can be retained while browsing through presets.
  • Added red triangles to the right of the current preset to allow the user to quickly scroll through presets.
  • New Cathedral presets, based on acoustic measurements of Italian cathedrals (and one German cathedral).

ValhallaRoom is available to purchase for $50 USD.

Valhalla DSP releases ValhallaRoom algorithmic reverb

Valhalla DSP ValhallaRoom

Valhalla DSP has announced the release of ValhallaRoom, a versatile, true stereo algorithmic reverb.

It features several original reverberation algorithms and has been designed from the ground up to produce a wide range of natural reverberation sounds. Sounds range from tight ambiences and rooms, through traditional hall and plate sounds, all the way up to vast modulated spaces. The algorithm designs have been influenced by some of the “classic” room simulation boxes, as well as state of the art modern theory.

ValhallaRoom features

  • Unique Early reverb section allows user to dial in subtle and short bursts of early reverberation energy, as well as gated reverbs up to 1 second in length.
  • The Late section produces natural reverb decays ranging from 0.1 seconds to 100 seconds. The decay can be controlled in 3 adjustable frequency bands.
  • Both Early and Late reverb sections have adjustable modulation, to produce sounds ranging from lush chorusing, to subtle and natural long decays.
  • ValhallaRoom is true stereo. The Early and Late reverb sections are both stereo-in, stereo-out. The spread of energy between the stereo channels can be controlled over time, which helps preserve the input spatial image.
  • The GUI has been designed for easy navigation, and is inspired by Joseph Müller-Brockmann, NASA control panels, and Sesame Street.
  • A comprehensive preset browser makes saving, recalling and sharing settings easy.
  • Four original reverberation algorithms:
    • Large Room – designed to emulate big rooms with a wide spatial impression, with smooth “detuning” modulation
    • Medium Room – sparser than Large Room, with a more random modulation
    • Bright Room – a lush, shinier-than-life reverb, with deep modulation and a somewhat slower attack
    • Large Chamber – a smooth decay with consistent high echo density and subtle detuning modulation

ValhallaRoom is currently available to purchase for Mac OSX (AU/AU64/VST/RTAS) for $50 USD. A Windows version is coming soon.

Valhalla DSP announces ValhallaRoom reverb effect plugin

Valhalla DSP has announced ValhallaRoom, a reverb effect plug-in.

The goal of ValhallaRoom is to be a useful “workhorse” reverb, for subtle drum rooms that can be felt more than heard, lush halls, dense plates, and big ambient decays. The algorithm designs have been influenced by some of the “classic” room simulation boxes, as well as state of the art modern theory.

ValhallaRoom features

  • ValhallaRoom features several original reverberation algorithms, designed to produce tight and subtle room sounds, as well as larger hall sounds and huge ambiances.

ValhallaRoom is scheduled for release in the next few weeks, priced at $50 USD.
