sonicLAB has updated the Cosmosƒ advanced stochastic synthesis instrument to version 1.2, which includes the first Windows release alongside the updated Mac version.

New feature in Cosmosƒ V1.2: Additive Synthesis with Sample Waveform

Cosmosƒ V1.2 offers new features for its Synthesis Engine: For instance a genuine Additive Synthesis feature has been developed, where you can control, automate and modulate up to 12 partials with their frequency and amplitude distribution. You can assign either a sine wave or a sample waveform to the partials. All partials sum up to one micro event waveform! Unheard clusters of sound objects can be created in real time within seconds.

A 300% performance gain has been achieved thanks to the immense efforts in coding for precision and optimization.

Now available on Windows7: in response to the significant demand for the Windows version, from now on Cosmosƒ is available on Windows 7 (for earlier OS versions please test the demo app).

Cosmosƒ is now available to purchase for Windows an Mac for 89 EUR. The update is free for registered users.

sonicLAB Cosmosƒ gets full OSC support in v1.1

Related: , , , , , Posted in news on Feb 20, 2012 - comment 0 comments

sonicLAB has updated its Cosmosƒ advanced stochastic synthesizer to version 1.1, featuring new addons dedicated to live performance and automation.

sonicLAB Cosmosƒ

Cosmosƒ is a real-time dynamic stochastic synthesis engine, which does generate sonic textures with a complex event distribution process. Discrete sonic events of certain density are distributed in a time space with their onset time and duration parameter calculated with stochastic/deterministic functions. Each macro event defines the duration of a meso space, and the sub events are distributed inside it.

Changes in Cosmosƒ v1.1

  • Full OSC support: You can control and automate any parameter of Cosmosƒ from another software/hardware (registered version only).
  • Manual Mute/Unmute switches for meso&micro events: Like on a mixing console, you can individually mute/unmute events inside the Cosmosƒ cycle: very efficient for developing controlled rhythmic structures.
  • Preset Morphing: You can morph the parameter space between 4 presets, therefore instantly interpolate over 250 parameters with a simple gesture.
  • Plus many improvements in the code including quadratic interpolation on all the audio playback routines.

Cosmosƒ for Mac is available to purchase for 89 EUR.

sonicLAB releases Cosmosƒ synthesizer for Mac

Related: , , , , Posted in news on Feb 06, 2012 - comment 0 comments

sonicLAB has released Cosmosƒ, a dynamic stochastic synthesis tool for Mac.

The overall goal of these functions is to achieve control on each event space and perform the process of change on the appropriate operation level. The user intervenes with the system in real-time by inputting a sound source or accessing different type of synthesis/modulation generators and by controlling the parameters for the sonic event distribution on different time scales.
