Ohm Force has announced version 1.0 of its Ohm Studio real-time collaborative digital audio workstation software for Windows and Mac.
Ohm Studio is the only pro-grade DAW that allows for online cloud-based collaboration – a technical challenge that explains why it took so long and why Ohm Studio is the only DAW to offer online collaboration to date.
As opposed to other DAWs that culturally promote the idea that one guy can do it all, Ohm Force understands that the music most people listen to is very rarely made by one person alone. In this age of the Internet, having access to a world of talented people to do instrument recording, arranging, producing will be brought back to the core experience of computer music making.
Collaborative features as well as a UI with a gentle learning curve and pro-grade audio performance complete the approach that sums up Ohm Studio.
Ohm Studio is both a software and a service. You can go for free offers for both, or buy both, or any combination of the two.
Ohm Studio pricing
- Ohm Studio (free) includes a basic production suite, free partner plugins (Hybrit amp sim from Lepou and Voxengo’s Old Skool Verb), exclusive UVI-made Ohm Studio multi-instrument (with 1.5 Gb of sounds), Frohmage filter and all of the Ohm Studio features with two exceptions: recording is limited to 16 bits and export to high quality compressed audio.
- Ohm Studio Pro (€39 euro zone, ~$42 everywhere else) includes all of this, gets rid of the two limitations and also includes industry standards OhmBoyz delay and Minimonsta synth.
- Ohm Studio Pro XXL (€99 euro zone, ~$107 everywhere else) includes everything from the pro version plus Ohmicide distortion, Quad Frohmage filterbank, Predatohm distortion, Hematohm frequency shifter, Ohmygod! comb filter, Mobilohm phaser and Oddity synth.
- On the service side users can choose to pay a monthly fee to take advantage of a comfortable project- and asset storage space, or stay with the 10 free projects. Creating, joining, or being a member of a given project will all use 1 project credit.

Voxengo has announced version 1.5 of LF Max Punch, a professional audio effect plugin for music and sounds where low-frequency thump and punch are most welcome, and where distortion is applied specifically to bring the bass sound to life.
LF Max Punch plug-in dynamically emphasizes selected bass frequency band, applies a smooth saturation over it, and produces additional sub-harmonic content, with the ability to blend it with the original bass band sound.
Optional compression can then be applied to the resulting low-frequency sound. LF Max Punch first splits the broad-band signal into low- and high-frequency bands and then applies the aforementioned effects to the lower band only.
Changes in LF Max Punch v1.5
- “Punch” effect is now a bit more pronounced.
- “Tubey” saturation type added which offers a stronger “bite”.
- VST3 support added.
LF Max Punch for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $79.95 USD.

Plugin Boutique has announced that the GlissEQ equalizer effect plugin for Windows and Mac is 25% off for a limited time as part of its Voxengo Partner Focus.
GlissEQ is a parametric equalizer plug-in for professional music production applications. The most interesting and unique feature of GlissEQ is the dynamic behavior of its filters.
To understand dynamic filtering, let’s begin by re-stating something probably obvious about a normal equalizer: you always get what you set. In other words, when you specify a 6 dB boost at 100 Hz you get exactly 6 dB of boost at 100 Hz.
But GlissEQ is different. When you specify a 6 dB boost at 100 Hz, you don’t necessarily get a 6 dB increase in gain. Instead, the filter’s effective gain is adjusted dynamically according to the program material. That is what we mean by dynamic filtering and it is the key to GlissEQ.
The GlissEQ for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase at 25% off from Plugin Boutique until October 16th, 2013.

Voxengo has released version 1.5 of TransGainer, a transient adjustment effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.
TransGainer allows you to specify positive or negative gain adjustment for a sound’s transient stage. You can also choose an expected average time between transients and transient threshold level so that the algorithm delivers you the most precise results possible. With the help of TransGainer you can pass the border from good to excellent audio recordings.
This updated version 1.5 introduces a new “Precise U” algorithm and now supports VST3.
TransGainer for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $79.95 USD.
