Voxengo has released version 3.7 of its GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

The most interesting and unique feature GlissEQ offers you is its filters with dynamic behavior. While when using a normal equalizer you always get what you have set: if you specify 6 dB boost at 100 Hz you get exactly 6 dB boost at 100 Hz.

GlissEQ offers you a slightly different approach: when you specify +6 dB at 100 Hz, you don’t necessarily get 6 dB of gain, filter’s effective gain is adjusted dynamically according to the sound material you are filtering.

• “Wide View Mode” user interface display mode implemented.
• The “Load CSV” and “Save CSV” text file functions added.
• Fixed rare occasional crashes on Mac OS X.
• If secondary spectrum is active, the delta between primary and secondary spectrums at cursor position is now displayed.

Steinberg has announced the immediate availability of a trial version of its acclaimed Cubase 7 advanced music production system.

Voxengo has released version 3.10 of the Elephant mastering limiter effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Elephant is a highly competitive plug-in for mastering applications: it features a variety of limiter modes that can be deeply customized, and a comprehensive set of level metering tools, including headroom estimation and K-metering.

Elephant’s built-in linear-phase oversampling is an important element in achieving high-quality peak limiting & loudness maximization without inter-sample overshoots.

Voxengo has released version 2.5 of SPAN, a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer plugin for professional music and audio production applications.

For the most part it was derived from Voxengo GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer and reproduces its spectrum analysis functionality.

SPAN provides you with a very flexible “mode” system which you can use to setup your spectrum analyzer preferences. You may specify Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, spectrum’s visual slope. Beside that you can choose to display secondary spectrum of a desired type (e.g. real-time maximum, all-time maximum). Spectrum can be smoothed out visually for an easier examination.

Changes in SPAN v2.5

• Crash issue reported in Apple Logic Pro fixed.
• If secondary spectrum is active, the delta between primary and secondary spectrums at cursor position is now displayed.
• A crash related to UI resizing function fixed.

Voxengo has released version 2.1 of its OldSkoolVerb reverb effect plugin and version 2.5 of MSED, an audio encoder-decoder effect plug-in.

OldSkoolVerb is best suited for non-percussive and soft-attack sounds like vocals, piano and pad sounds.

• OldSkoolVerb is a freeware algorithmic reverberation AU and VST plug-in for professional music production applications. This plug-in implements a kind of “classic” stereo reverb algorithm which is technically simple yet optimal. It also produces a very clear spatial image that blends well with the mix.
• MSED is a professional audio encoder-decoder AU and VST plugin for mid-side processing which is able to encode (split) the incoming stereo signal into two components: mid-side pair, and vice versa: decode mid-side signal pair into stereo signal.

The updated versions include a fix to a rare crash problem. Both plug-ins are available for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) as freeware.
