Waves has announced Genesis, a bundle of 4 effect plug-ins for live sound.
Waves Genesis is a collection of four must-have plugins for live sound. Perfect for venues of all sizes, Genesis is Native, TDM and SoundGrid® compatible, and covers all your essential processing needs.
Genesis includes the C4 Multiband Compressor for dynamic equalization and tone-shaping; Renaissance DeEsser to control sibilant “ess” and “shh” sounds; Renaissance Reverb for space and atmosphere; and H-Delay to create depth and movement.
Together, these four plugins form the basis of an expandable, forward-thinking performance system that is ready to grow and evolve with you and your needs.
Waves has announced the release of the RS56 Passive EQ effect plug-in, developed in collaboration with Abbey Road Studios.
The Waves RS56 passive equalizer is an extremely musical-sounding EQ.
A passive equalizer with powerful sound-shaping capabilities, the RS56 Universal Tone Control was originally introduced in the early 1950s and used in Abbey Road Studios to prepare recordings for the record-lathe, as part of the process we now know as “mastering.” Later, Abbey Road’s pop engineers began using the RS56 for studio recordings because of its abilities to dramatically manipulate sound – unlike the basic treble and bass EQs found on the mixing consoles of the time. This earned it the nickname “The Curve Bender.”
Waves and Abbey Road Studios have faithfully recreated the unique magic of the RS56, using advanced circuit modeling techniques based on the original schematics. Like its hardware predecessor, the Waves: Abbey Road RS56 passive EQ plugin features three bands with four selectable center frequencies for each and six different filter types, plus independent or linked control over the left and right channels. The result is an extraordinary equalizer that is as effective today as it was when it was created over half a century ago.

Waves has announced the release of GEQ, a full-featured graphic equalizer with both Classic and Modern mono and stereo components, featuring 30 ISO bands plus high and low pass filters, a high precision floating parametric EQ bell filter, and a real-time analyzer.
GEQ Classic components use traditional proportional Q filters inspired by the renowned DN series 1/3 octave equalizers, which narrow the filter width as you increase a band’s gain; GEQ Modern components utilize special Flat-Top filters which eliminate the artifacts associated with band interaction, and provide perfect plateau and stair-stepped responses.
Set band gains one-by-one, or draw your curve via touch-screen or mouse. Finally, GEQ’s integrated real-time analyzer lets you compare the difference between two sources. Created for live sound but equally useful in the studio as well, GEQ is powerful proof that all equalizers are not created equal.
30 ISO bands with selectable 6 ,12 & 18 dB scales.
Independent HPF, LPF and parametric bells per side.
Classic component with Proportional Q filters.
Modern component with non-interactive Flat-Top filters.
GEQ is now available for the introductory price of $99 USD (regular $200 USD). GEQ is Native and SoundGrid compatible, and included in Mercury, SoundGrid Pro and SoundGrid SD7 Pro bundles.
