Waveshaper Moscow Disco MkII

Waveshaper has announced the release of Moscow Disco MkII, an update to the drum sample pack featuring all the sounds from the “pro classic” version, and more than 500 fresh new samples with many variations and an optimum sound quality.

Built like a tank with a funky design, you will be surprised by the raw sound of the ultra-rare Marsh UDS russian drum synth. The kick drum is huge, the snares and hats are sooo analogue, and this unit is also perfect for all kind of depitched toms and retro sci-fi FX.

This WaveShaper kit will bring you back into eighties goodness, but with its thick, blurby, retromodernistic sound, you will also enjoy it on your electro, idm, minimal or space disco tracks.

The MkII sample pack costs $6.90 USD (600 one-shot samples, 24bit/48khz, stereo Wav files).

Waveshaper has also announced that 4 of its critically-accaimed drumsample packs are now also available as Kontakt versions.

Waveshaper sample packs for Kontakt

When purchasing 12bit drummer, Plasticid MkII, Kr55 or Algo Operator, you now have the choice to get either the “normal” pack with WAV samples, or a bigger pack containing both the WAV files as well as NKI kits for just 1$ more!

Spektro Audio updates Spektro Nucleation for Max for Live to v2.0

Spektro Audio has released version 2.0 of Spektro Nucleation, a Max For Live device that functions as a waveshaper and bitcrusher.

This major (and free!) update brings some exciting new features to our beloved waveshaping device.

Spektro Nucleation

Changes in Spektro Nucleation v2.0

  • gen~ processing: During versions 1.0x, Nucleation, like most MaxforLive devices, processed sound in blocks of samples. Now, in version 2.0, it upsamples the signal by 2x and then uses the gen~ technology to process sample-by-sample! This new processing method results in less digital artifacts, less aliasing and a more pleasing timbre for your sound.
  • New controls for you to shape your sound even further: offset and shift! Even tho the Offset control already existed in the previous versions, it now works differently due to the new gen~ processing method. The new Shift control allows you to shift the waveform forward in time, completely changing the sound.

Spektro Nucleation is available to purchase for $5 USD. A free lite edition is available to download.

Sunsine Audio intros Waveshaper Plasticid MkII for iOS

Sunsine Audio Plasticid MkII

Sunsine Audio has announced it has converted Waveshaper’s Plasticid MkII sample library for use with iOS.

The Boss DR-110 is a cute little drum machine from the early 80s, the last analogue one made by Roland.
The overall sound is very reminiscent to the much praised TR-808 and TR-606. The DR-110 will give you that classic, sought-after sound but with some slight difference and much character.

Plasticid MkII takes this sample pack one step further, with 120 new samples gathered in 18 kits. This new version aims at coloration and expands the sonic palette of the DR-110, processing it using vintage hardware to shape it up nicely. The cymbals are spitting, the bassdrum is kicking, and the snare and claps tones ranging from dark to bright make each kit acting like a rebirth for the mighty DR-110! Great care has been taken about recording a semi open hat sample for even more expression.

Converted and exclusively available for iOS use (Nanostudio and Beatmaker 2) from Sunsine Audio.

Plasticid MkII for iOS features

  • 120 One Hit Samples.
  • 18 Kits.
  • 18 .bmkz files for Beatmaker 2.
  • 18 .trg files for Nanostudio.
  • Easy Installation Instructions.

Plasticid MkII for iOS is available to purchase for $3.40 USD. The original Wav edition is available from Waveshaper.

Waveshaper releases Synsonix, KPR77 & Space Bleep Transmissions sample packs

Waveshaper has announced the release of three new sample libraries.

Waveshaper Synsonix

The Synsonix sample pack features sounds from the Synsonics drum machine by Mattel.

The Synsonics is a black analogue drum machine with 4 big pads to hit. The sound is very electronic, and there is a “tone” knob to shape the sounds. It can somewhat remind the Simmons drum synths from that era, in a more primitive form. It is a lovely piece of gear which doesn’t sound at all like the others (think “Barbie meets PanSonic” to get a better idea).

This drumsample pack features 90 one shot samples recorded with care, and should find a nice place in your music production, whatever genre it is, as long as you enjoy deep and pure electronic sounds.

The Synsonix pack is available to purchase for $2.90 USD.

Waveshaper KPR77

The KPR77 library features the sounds of the Korg KPR-77, a very electronic sounding analog drum machine from the early 80s with a true signature sound.

The hats are the most acid ones we have heard, the clap is unique, the overall sound is gritty and corrosive, perfect for acid, electro pop, house or adding some original flavor and spice in any of your production. However, programming the original hardware device is a total nightmare, so you might be pleased to enjoy the sampled sounds without having to deal with the pain to program it.

But that’s not all: In this Waveshaper drumsamples pack, you will find “dry” kits, as well as more processed samples (with stronger kick sounds, good use of solid state mixer, vintage eq, analogue distortion and tube compressors), so you get both the pure, raw sound of the drum machine, and also some processed samples, always true to the original, but ready to use in your productions.

The KPR77 pack includes 200+ one-shot samples (12 kits), and is available to purchase for $3.90 USD.

Waveshaper Space Bleep Transmissions

Waveshaper’s Space Bleep Transmissions includes 540+ samples from the Coron DS-7, a tiny device used by disco drummers in the 70s to add some electronic sounds to their kits.

While it excels at creating those well-known disco toms and lazer sounds, it is far more capable than that and can produce deep sub-basses, weird space FX, pure electronic tones and futuristic electro blips.

This big drumsample pack should be perfect for space disco songs, retronica, electropop, idm, analogue SFX or any production where you want to add some retrosonic flavour or unheard sounds.
It features more than 540 one-shot samples, all true to the DS-7′s own sound, but recorded in various ways: As well as a comprehensive “dry” kit (catching the pure, raw sound of the unit), you will find processed samples using a sought-after analogue chorus, an old distortion stompbox, octaver pedal, solid state mixer and a tube compressor. So you get the best of both world : the “true sound” of the device and production-ready samples.

The Space Bleep Transmissions pack costs $4.90 USD.

All three sample packs also have 16bit/44.1kHz mono collections available as a free download.

Audio Damage releases Mangleverb effect plugin

Related: , , , , , , , , , Posted in news on Jun 04, 2013 - comment 0 comments

Audio Damage has announced the release of Mangleverb, a new multi effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

What happens when you combine a thick reverb, a filter, an envelope follower, an LFO, and a VCA? We wanted to know. The results are surprisingly useful. Mangleverb can be used as a filter, reverb, transient shaper, rhythmic gate, LPF gate, tempo-synced VCA, and any combination thereof. It is, for all intents and purposes, a Swiss Army Knife, for both wild sonic destruction and more utilitarian production work.

Audio Damage Mangleverb
Mangleverb is audio damage’s newest multi-effect plug-in for sonic troublemakers.

Mangleverb features

  • Simple-to-use algorithmic reverb that can be either pre- or post-filter/VCA.
  • A monster resonant filter model with lowpass, bandpass, and highpass modes, and a drive circuit for gritty distortion.
  • Sophisticated tempo-synced LFO with waveshaper to create all common (and some uncommon) modulation shapes.
  • Envelope follower with internal, LFO, sidechain input, and MIDI trigger modes.
  • Feedback path and modulated VCA for final signal taming.

Mangleverb for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available to purchase for $49 USD.
