Z3TA+ is highly revered as a classic synthesizer with unique character and tonality. It’s unmistakable signature sound has been used in countless electronic, trance, and dance productions around the globe for a decade. The key to Z3TA+’s success has been its formidable sound synthesis generation engine, featuring unique per-oscillator waveshaping capability, vast filters, multi-stage envelope generators, morphing and advanced modulation matrix with powerful effects routing.

WaveShaper releases MR-10 Grey Matter and Soul Sisters Trio drum sample packs

WaveShaper has announced the MR-10 Grey Matter and Soul Sisters Trio, two new drumsample packs.

The MR-10 is a compact analogue drum machine from the early 80′s made by Yamaha. It features 5 pads that you can hit to trigger the sounds and some cheesy tango & waltz presets.

WaveShaper MR-10 Grey Matter

This tiny grey box has a rather characteristic sound, with a deep kick (somewhat reminiscent of the infamous 909) and a quite unique snare. The tone knob lets you shape the sound of the kit, and it is very efficient on the toms and snare. It sounds 200% analogue, but not like the usual suspects, so this carefully recorded WaveShaper pack will fit in any of your music productions, from electro pop to doom exotica !

As always, great care has been taken to keep the original sound alive and kicking with a high headroom, but some subtle tube coloring and compression assures you to make this kit sound unique.

The pro kit gathers 5 tone variations from each of the 7 individual sounds, in stereo, 24bit, 48khz wav files. It is available to purchase for $1.40 USD. A free kit includes one full sample kit (7 sounds, mono, 16bit/44.1khz wav files).

The Soul Sisters Trio sample pack includes samples from three retro drum synthesizers.

WaveShaper DR-55B

Built at the same time, these three small retro boxes share several features, but like soul sisters, they each have their unique character and a different sound.

The Boss DR-55 features a rimshot and a tone control. It was used by a bunch of artists in the past decades for its signature sound.

The Soundmaster SR-88 has a very delicate, soft, analogue sound and is perfect for electro tracks or sweet retro songs.

The Amdek RMK-100 is the rarest of the bunch. It was built by Roland and sold as a DIY project, which makes it very hard to find. The sound is the rawest of the three, and the hi-hats are a true gem for any acid and electro lover.

I recorded them with the usual care, through a custom chain of gentle tube compression and a tube preamp. I made several takes in order to capture the subtle analogue variations of each sound, and also processed them with a vintage hardware eq (and some distortion on one kit to make it dirtier and punchier). Any round-robin able softsampler will love to be fed by these analogue sounds!

The pro kit gathers 57 samples, 48khz-24bit stereo Wav files), available to purchase for $4.90 USD. The nasty pack contains more than 170 samples, priced $6.90 USD. A free kit contains some samples from the 3 drum machines (17 samples, 44,1khz-16bit mono Wav files).

Sinevibes releases Diffusion synthesizer plugin for Mac

Sinevibes has announced Diffusion, a synthesizer instrument plug-in for Mac.

Sinevibes Diffusion

Sinevibes is extremely excited to announce Diffusion, its very first instrument plugin which has been especially developed for creating rich motion sounds. Diffusion’s unique synthesizer engine combines additive oscillators and waveshaping models with an advanced matrix sequencer that allows for over 400 different parameter combinations per step. All this being accessible via an intuitive interface makes Diffusion an extremely capable tool for producing animated synths and basses which have incredible density and character while being clean and warm at the same time.

“To create synth and bass parts required for today’s electronic music styles, producers often need to layer multiple plugins and do a lot of post-processing.” – says Artemiy Pavlov, founder and chief developer at Sinevibes. “With Diffusion alone, they can now create very complex motion instruments with a lot of liveliness and character, enjoying an extremely fun-to-use interface while at it.”

Diffusion features

  • Dual monophonic oscillator with 6 additive waveforms and 6 waveshape transformation models.
  • Flexible tempo-synchronized sequencer with up to 32 steps, each with individual setting for note switch, waveform, waveshape model, envelope type and modulation depth.
  • High-contrast user interface with randomization features.
  • Useful collection of preset patches and templates.

Diffusion for Mac (AU) is available to purchase for $59 USD. It requires Mac OS 10.5 or later, and a 32 or 64 bit AudioUnit instrument host application that supports Cocoa user interface technology.

WaveShaper releases Stix305 and Algo Operator sample packs

WaveShaper has introduced two new packs featuring the very rare Stix305 analogue drum machine, and some digital FM drum sounds with Algo~Operator.

New WaveShaper sample packs

  • WaveShaper Stix305

Stix305 – The SoundMaster Stix 305 is a very rare analogue drum machine from the early eighties. This WaveShaper sample pack is a quite unique occasion to meet this very little known and lovely beat box. Your tracks will get a great retro sound, whether you are an electronic funk producer, and acid freak or a true analogue sound lover. The Stix305 was recorded using some tube preamp and compressor and a vintage eq on top of it to keep the analogue vibe on the full recording chain.

  • WaveShaper Algo Operator

Algo Operator – Algorithms, operators and opaque sub-menus programing : FM synthesis is not very friendly, but also a very rewarding world for creating new sounds, and a still rather unexplored territory when it comes to drum synthesis. With this new WaveShaper kit, don’t worry about spending hours programming, this sample pack is ready to use and generously gathers 250 percussive one shot samples created with FM synths. This kit was created by using mainly a Yamaha TX81-Z rackmount synth from 1987, with 12bit converters and a quite gritty sound. Don’t expect much to find the usual analogue-like drums samples, it’s all about designing abstract micro sounds, pure tones, sharp transients or percussion simulacra with a twist. Some well-known fm sounds from the 80s are also included to make this kit more than complete.

The Stix305 pack (54 one shot samples + 13 loops, all 24bit/48khz, stereo Wav files) is available to purchase for $2.90 USD; the Algo Operator (250 categorized one-shot samples, 48khz-24bit stereo Wav files) is $5.90 USD. Free packs can be download from the WaveShaper website.
