Some interesting things I found recently:

# Drone Machines by Tristan Shone.

Drone Machines are custom made machines fabricated from raw materials and utilizing open source circuitry.

The devices draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation, robotics and mechanical tools and devices, focusing on the eroticism of interaction with machine.

The machines require significant force from the performer, aligning he or she with the plodding drone and doom influenced sounds that are created.

• Feltron Eight – Nicholas Felton posted his 2007 Annual Report. I happen to have a copy of the 2006 Annual Report and I have to say it’s even lovelier in print.
• the stribe – an 8-channel multi-touch controller for music or video software.
• Jun Murakoshi _ noisy instrument 01 – When you put a seashell on your ear, you can hear something strange noise. It is noise but it makes us feel good. This product is a wearable instrument for listening the noise like seashell makes.

• Mona Lisa from recycled train tickets – Employees at the Takashimaya department store in Osaka have created four reproductions of world-famous paintings using 320,000 old train tickets obtained from the nearby Nankai Namba station.

• Graffiti Archaeology – a project devoted to the study of graffiti-covered walls as they change over time. The core of the project is a timelapse collage, made of photos of graffiti taken at the same location by many different photographers over a span of several years.
• Dragonfly or Insect Spy? – Robobugs on the loose!
• Smashing Magazine Best of September 2007 – Some of the most interesting web-development-related web-sites, references, tutorials, services, tools, techniques and articles.

• The Apartment at the Mall – A few artists discovered an apartment-sized vacant space under a mall in Providence, RI, and over several years proceeded to build a living space which they furnished (with things bought at the mall) as an “art piece.”
• Deviant Synth – Analogue Heaven is poison. We are the antidote. – Anything posted will be taken down if it is at all synth-collector oriented, chiptune-related, dull, or sheeplike. Photos of vintage keyboards are not welcome — unless they’re STRANGE keyboards…
