Ableton has announced an expanded partnership with SAE institutes in the United States.
Ableton is pleased to announce that, effective immediately, new students enrolled in the Audio Technology Program (ATP) at all SAE Institutes in the USA will automatically receive Ableton Live 8 as part of their accompanying Audio Production Bundle. The bundle contains a collection of industry-standard software and hardware, to which Ableton is excited to add Live 8.
In recognition of this new joint commitment, Ableton and SAE will hold a series of workshop events from August to October 2011, at SAE Institutes worldwide.
At each Ableton-SAE Fall Tour event, Ableton specialists will offer insight into production techniques using Ableton Live, suitable for artists and producers of any skill level. Every workshop will be free of charge and open to the public.

Alan Parsons’ Art & Science of Sound Recording has announced the Level 3 Master Class Training Session with Alan Parsons, July 22-23, 2011.
A select group of attendees will join multi-Platinum engineer, producer and artist Alan Parsons and the crème de la crème of LA’s session musicians at the legendary Village Studios in Los Angeles for the making of a new record.
This intensive two-day workshop expands upon techniques and practices shown in Alan Parsons’ Art & Science Of Sound Recording series, bridging the gap between modern recording facilities and a classic recording experience.
Rami Jaffee (Keys / Foo Fighters) and Tim Pierce (Guitar / Crowded House, Michael Jackson) are now confirmed as two of the session players for the LA MCTS. The full line up of players will be announced shortly.

Point Blank has announced Music Potential, a free music production workshop featuring Wretch 32.
Point Blank, in association with Barclaycard Unwind and Choice FM’s Music Potential initiative, are giving young people a fantastic opportunity to win a recording session with Grime artist Wretch 32.
The contest winner will spend a day at the award winning Point Blank Music College in Hoxton, London working on their track with the latest star of the UK’s underground urban scene.
Wretch32, now signed to Ministry of Sound, started out as a member of the grime collective “Combination Chain Gang”, before forming The Movement with Scorcher, Ghetto, Devlin and Mercston. His huge debut single Traktor hit number 5 in the UK singles chart in January 2011 before Unorthodox featuring vocals from Example debuted at number 2. He plans to release his second album Black and White this August.
For a chance of winning, entrants must attend the Music Potential event taking place on July 21st at Wembley Arena and submit their demo CD.
