AudioEffects.com

AudioEffects.com has announced Dereverberationizer, a software application for removing excess reverb, has enabled scientists to listen to the sound of the Big Bang at the dawn of time.

Published by The Sound Guy, Inc., Dereverberationizer removes any amount of reverberation, no matter how extreme. The program was originally designed for various common, everyday uses, such as removing reverb from lectures or concerts. However, CEO Earl Vickers stated, “We’re continually surprised by all the new ways people use the software. For example, in Switzerland, Dereverberationizer has helped improve the intelligibility of messages conveyed across the Alps via yodeling.”

Most significantly, scientists have recently used Dereverberationizer to listen to the sound of the Big Bang for the first time, free from the distortion that occurred as the cosmic background radiation reverberated throughout all of time and space. This discovery not only helps confirm the existence of gravitational waves, as predicted by Einstein’s theory of General Relativity, but it also provides direct, audible evidence of what happened in the first fraction of a second after the singularity.

As the video clearly shows, Dereverberationizer is the ultimate dereverberationizing software. However, if you decide to purchase Zynaptiq’s UNVEIL instead, you can get an additional discount off the already discounted price by using coupon code UNVEIL41 at https://secure.avangate.com/order/checkout.php?PRODS=4580618&QTY=1&CART=1&CARD=1. This offer is valid only on April 1, 2014.

Zynaptiq Unfilter

Zynaptiq has announced the immediate availability of UNVEIL version 1.7 and UNFILTER version 1.1, the award-winning real-time dereverberation and adaptive tonal contour linearization plug-ins.

These free updates add AAX Native 64 support for Mac and Windows users, enabling the use from within Pro Tools 11, as well as several enhancements and fixes, and are available now.

UNVEIL is a real-time, de-mixing based plug-in that allows attenuating or boosting reverb components within a mixed signal of any channel count, including mono sources. Additionally, UNVEIL allows bringing the key features of a recording into focus, or moving them to the background, by attenuating or boosting perceptionally less important signal components.

UNFILTER is a real-time plug-in that removes filtering effects, such as comb filtering, resonance, or excessive equalization – effectively linearizing the frequency response of a signal automatically. UNFILTER can also apply a detected filter response to another signal, or export it to disk as an impulse response file (WAV), and can perform mastering grade adaptive, free-form, and graphic equalization.

Changes in Unveil v1.7 / Unfilter v1.1

  • Now also supports 64bit operation as AAX Native in Pro Tools 11 on Mac and Windows systems.
  • For the AAX 32-bit plug-in, the minimum required Pro Tools version is now 10.3.5.
  • Enhanced compatibility to Mac OS Sandboxing and Windows UAC.
  • Improved batch processing behavior for UNFILTER.
  • Improved compatibility with various host applications.

The updates are available to download now.

Zynaptiq Unfilter

Zynaptiq has announced the release of Unfilter, an adaptive tonal contour linearization effect plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Applications include removing room resonance, repairing poorly mic’d production sound or musical recordings, enhancing the intelligibility of speech recordings in film sound, broadcast, ENG and forensics, adapting multiple sounds to blend better with each other, adaptively re-balancing the frequency response of mixed music, general purpose high resolution automatic equalization, and creatively designing new sounds.

Unfilter features

  • Automatically detect and remove resonances, equalization, roll-offs and the effects of comb filtering from musical, location, dialog and surveillance recordings.
  • Apply the measured filter response to other signals to place them in the same “acoustic world”.
  • Export the measured filter response to or import it from a linear- or minimum-phase impulse response file (WAV).
  • Mastering grade adaptive, free-form and graphic equalization.
  • Extremely steep 96dB/octave shelving high-pass filter.
  • Output limiter for unsupervised use in batch processing applications.
  • Highly time-efficient workflow and UI.

The Unfilter plug-in for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS/AAX) is available to purchase for MSRP $399 USD / 369 EUR incl. VAT.

Native Instruments releases PULSWERK Expansion for MASCHINE

Native Instruments Pulswerk

Native Instruments has announced the release of Pulswerk, a new Maschine Expansion designed for minimalistic house and techno.

Aside from its 30 drum kits, PULSWERK contains 20 unique Special Kits created exclusively with pitched sound sources. The Expansion also features an array of Multi-Effect Kits containing pre-sequenced, tempo synced effect chains and 60 new specially-designed MASSIVE presets. Combining these, PULSWERK provides an extensive toolkit for producers eager to turn deep sonic experimentation into finished professional productions.

PULSWERK’s 30 Drum Kits provide a selection of kicks, snares, claps, metallic sounds, and more specifically chosen to serve as a sonic foundation for the rest of the Expansion’s feature set. An array of Special Kits larger than that of any previous Expansion comprises chords, pads, drones, bleeps, and a variety of other pitched sound sources. Together, these sounds combine to give users a powerful toolkit for constructing polished, percussive grooves. The included patterns provide users with a creative springboard to quickly and easily start building tracks. PULSWERK’s sounds were meticulously designed with top-of-the-line software, hardware, and modular synthesizers, and drum machines – each running through high-end compressor and EQ chains carefully chosen to enhance the sound’s inherent character.

PULSWERK also features a set of pre-sequenced Multi-Effect Kits created from MASCHINE’s vast selection of on-board effects. These custom effect chains conveniently load into MASCHINE’s pads exactly like a drum kit.
Each chain automatically syncs to track tempo for evolving, beat-synced textures. These effect chains also boast powerful routing options, allowing users to route chains into new ones for a wide array of combinations. Designed for performance, key effect parameters are intuitively mapped to the hardware’s Macro knobs. Users can also automate effect performances and recall them for future production sessions and live improvisation.

PULSWERK was created by renowned sound designer Denis Gökdag – the creator of NI’s wildly successful MASCHINE Expansion TRANSISTOR PUNCH, and the name behind Surround SFX and Zynaptiq.

Pulswerk is available to purchase for for $49 USD / 49 EUR. A compact version of Pulswerk is also available for iMASCHINE in the in-app store for $0.99 USD / 0.89 EUR.
