420 Plugins has a announced the release of a free compressor plugin for macOS and Windows.
A smooth, program-dependent compressor, Opti Comp is designed for mix-ready leveling on vocals and bass without sounding pinched or obvious.
Opti Comp includes an HF Bias control that lets users weight the detector toward higher frequencies for more even leveling across the spectrum, which is useful when low frequencies are driving gain reduction too strongly.
Available in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats, Opti Comp is free and available as a direct installer download with no account creation or credit card required.
The plugin is also part of the 420 Plugin Suite, which currently includes 15 lightweight audio plugins and continues to grow with new releases.
