In August 2025, the indie brand Ablaze released its flagship plugin Screamer, designed to instantly transform your raw screams into the massive, larger-than-life vocal sound that defines modern metal. The Screamer release was a great success, and to thank the metal vocal community for their continuous support, Ablaze has now released a free bundle of metal-oriented utility plugins.
The Ablaze Toolkit is a collection of utility plugins originally created to streamline the workflow of the brand’s founder Jochem while producing his own metal tracks. The first 5 plugins are now freely available, without email or signup required:
- Lifter: Clever filter to add air to your vocal bus.
- Booster: Crunchy brickwall limiter with pre-clipping.
- Pitcher: Dedicated pitch shifter for extreme vocals.
- Bass Drop: Deep and filthy bass drop generator.
- Snare Bomb: Hard-hitting snare bomb generator.
The plugins are available to download for Windows, macOS and Linux, in VST/VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP and LV2 formats.
Over time, more Ablaze freebies will be added, with the goal of simplifying complicated and time-consuming production techniques commonly used in the production of modern metal music.
Alongside the release of the Ablaze Toolkit, Ablaze has introduced several updates to Screamer. Also, visitors to the Ablaze website can now try out a new Screamer demo-player on the homepage, a web-based version of the plugin that allows users to mix the vocals of the brand’s founder straight in the browser. In addition, Screamer is now also available as a standalone iOS app, bringing its signature modern metal vocal workflow to mobile.
