All Good Folks has introduced a Mac app which puts everything you just worked on one click from your menu bar. Recent Files watches folders and filter them down to the file types you actually care about.
Point it at the folders you actually work in, and it shows what changed in them, newest first. Exports, drafts, proofs, screenshots, contracts, bounces. Images and layered files carry a real thumbnail instead of a generic icon, so you pick the right version first time instead of opening four. Every version of the same file folds into a single line.
For people who make music, Recent Files can show the files you were actually just working on, with the waveform drawn right there in the list. You can play a bounce without opening it, fold eight versions of the same track into one line, and convert to mp3 without leaving the list.
Recent Files features
- Everything you just touched, in the menu bar, grouped by Today, Yesterday and earlier.
- Real thumbnails for artwork, layered files, PDFs and video.
- Every version of the same file folded into one row.
- Point it at a folder and filter it to the file types you care about.
- Quick Look, pinning, and drag straight into an email.
- Light or dark, your own accent color, roomy rows or compact.
- A compact mode that hangs off the menu bar and stays out of the way.
- A real waveform on every audio row, and playback in place without launching anything.
- Integrated loudness, true peak and phase correlation on the row, so you spot the squashed bounce before you send it.
- Convert to MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC or Apple Lossless, normalize to −14 LUFS if you want.
The app is free to download in the Mac App Store. Pro is a one-off £19 GBP for unlimited folders, thumbnails, conversion and the loudness readouts. Use coupon code RECENTFILES20 at checkout to purchase the app for £14.99 GBP until March 16th, 2027.
