Applied Acoustics Systems has announced the upcoming release of a major update to its modular synthesizer and effect processor for macOS and Windows.
A modular rack for creating and playing synthesizers, Multiphonics CV-3 can also be used to assemble effects and process audio tracks.
With its straightforward interface and its harmonious ecosystem of modules, Multiphonics provides seasoned musicians and sound designers with a fun yet powerful space to explore musical and sonic ideas and quickly bring them to life. For those new to sound synthesis, it is an engaging learning environment. Multiphonics ships with a vast and inspiring library of synths and effects crafted by top sound designers.
“The standout feature of Multiphonics CV-3 is its new polyphonic capability, which fundamentally transforms its potential as a musical instrument,” says Benoit Charland, lead product designer at Applied Acoustics Systems.
“A patch can be made polyphonic with literally the push of a button—a simplicity rare among modular racks, which are monophonic in nature. We’ve also expanded the module library with new acoustic oscillators based on our award-winning physical modeling technology, bringing AAS’s signature tone and feel into the modular realm. Combined with the new MPE compatibility, this opens the door to crafting truly unique synths with unparalleled expressive control.”
Multiphonics CV‑3 for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is scheduled for release in February 2025. Until its release, all purchases of Multiphonics CV-2 include a free upgrade to Multiphonics CV-3 and are available with a 33% discount ($129 USD instead of $199 USD).
