Arendal Sound has announced a new high-end loudspeaker platform designed for customers who put music first, while expecting a system that also performs naturally and convincingly for movies.
Positioned below the flagship 1528 Series, the 1610 Series was created in response to clear customer demand for a more approachable high-end system. Many customers wanted the same confidence, build quality, and sound philosophy found in Arendal Sound’s top tier – delivered in a smaller, more attainable package that fits a wider range of rooms, listening distances, and everyday use.
The 1610 Series is designed around how systems are actually used. Room shapes are rarely ideal, placement involves compromise, and listening happens daily – not only during focused listening sessions. Music remains the primary reference, with movies treated as an equally important part of the experience, ensuring a balanced and coherent presentation across both use cases. Rather than assuming idealized rooms or perfect symmetry, the 1610 Series is designed around common room shapes and realistic listening distances.
“Since we launched 1528, many of our customers have asked us for the same confidence, build quality, and sound philosophy in a more approachable system,” says Jan Ove Lassesen, Founder of Arendal Sound.
“With 1610, we’re deliberately moving the reference point. This is high-end sound built for customers who expect real value for their money – not inflated pricing justified by marketing narratives or tradition.”
Rather competing on spectacle or exaggerated claims, the 1610 Series introduces a new reference for what high-end sound should cost when it is designed for customers, not distribution layers. By selling directly and developing complete systems instead of isolated products, Arendal Sound is able to focus resources where they matter most: performance consistency, build quality, and long-term ownership confidence.
Every model in the 1610 Series shares the same acoustic intent and voicing, allowing systems to be built or expanded over time without changing character or balance. This system-first approach ensures predictable results – not just at purchase, but years into ownership.
At its core, the 1610 Series is designed to reduce uncertainty. It is for customers who want to feel safe in their decision – confident that what they are buying makes sense for their space, their listening habits, and the value they expect in return for their hard-earned money.
Built on Arendal’s Core Design Principles
The 1610 Series is built on the same fundamental design principles used across Arendal Sound’s higher-end systems. This includes the RØST Essence architecture, Time-Aligned Design for coherent wave propagation, controlled dispersion through carefully shaped waveguides, and rigid HDF cabinet construction for predictable acoustic behavior. These choices are not about novelty, but about consistency- ensuring stable, balanced performance in practical listening environments.
