Ash Taylor has announced an update to SoundFont player plugin built with videogame musicians and power users in mind.
Now also available in VST3, CLAP and AU plugin formats for macOS, SFLT aims to deliver excellent SoundFont spec compliance, customizable and high-quality sound output, and a great user experience.
This version also introduces support for the SF3 format, an extension of the SF2 spec with support for Ogg/Vorbis-compressed samples. beyond that, there’s QoL features like support for manual value entry, an unclamped editing mode for certain parameters, and a number of bugfixes, like for SFLT not loading SoundFonts properly in MuseScore (and in other DAWs, if the audio thread wasn’t running.)
Currently in public beta, SFLT is available as a “pay what you like” download, including free.
