Audio Brewers has announced the release of a three-dimensional equalizer plugin with independent bands per spatial dimension.
Natively compatible with mono, stereo, and Ambisonics signals (1OA to 7OA), ab EQ allows users to sculpt frequency content independently across spatial poles such as front, back, left, right, top, and bottom.
ab EQ is built for musicians, mixing engineers, and sound designers who want deeper control over immersive audio. You can use it transparently for corrective EQ, or push it into experimental territory where space and timbre merge into a single creative tool.
In essence, ab EQ is about control, clarity, and flexibility. It makes equalisation three-dimensionally intuitive, whether you’re working in Mono, Stereo, Surround, or fully immersive formats like Dolby Atmos.
ab EQ features
- Independent 10-band equalizer engines per dimensional pole (left, right, front, back, top, bottom).
- Each band can be linked between multiple dimensional poles.
- each band can work as pass (high/low), shelf (high/low), notch or bell.
- Pass filters with custom 12dB/Oct to 48dB/Oct slopes.
- Q ranges from 0.1 to 10.0.
- Dry/wet spectrum visualizer per dimensional-pole.
- Each dimensional pole can be soloed, muted, AB’ed, and volume-controlled for exceptional fine-tuning.
- Innovative cross-OS, cross-DAW Presets system. Move, copy and even share your presets.
- Natively compatible with mono, stereo and Ambisonics (1OA-7OA*) signals.
- Compatible with surround, binaural, Atmos, or any speaker-array configuration through Ambisonics decoding.
- Constant and automatic troubleshooting algorithm keeps your signal flowing.
Available in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats for Windows and macOS, ab EQ is on sale for the intro price of €49 EUR until April 10th, 2026 (regular €59 EUR).
A version tailored for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), EQ X brings the same equalization engine to mobile platforms, this time for stereo signals, where left, right and front can be equalized independently. The app is $5.99 USD / €6.99 EUR at the App Store.
