New York City-based Authentic Soundware has introduced a new sample library for the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt.
Capturing the authentic sound of a midcentury studio vibraphone, Space Age Vibraphone features a number of new sampling and scripting features inspired by the music of legendary composers and arrangers such as Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, and Quincy Jones.
Key features include performance-based repetition samples, “blur mode” for creating realistic blurred glissandi, arpeggios and runs, and dynamic chord tremolos.
“The vibraphone is one of the essential colors from the palette of the mid-century studio orchestra. Space Age Vibraphone allows you to bring the shimmering textures, ethereal effects, and dynamic percussive energy of this unique and beautiful instrument to your music, in an inspiring and playable virtual instrument.” – Jared Hunter, Authentic Soundware
Continuing the developer’s Space Age Orchestra collection, Space Age Vibraphone gives composers and producers a tool for creating vintage orchestrations in jazz, big band, bossa nova, and film score genres.
Space Age Vibraphone contains approximately 11GB of sample content (5GB compressed), with 7 articulations, 2 mallet types, and 4 microphone positions.
The library is available to purchase for an introductory price of $69 USD until May 12th, 2025 (regular $99 USD).
