Independent audio software developer Avalanche Tones has officially released its flagship guitar utility plugin, Chainsaw Suite. The an all-in-one modular chain builder is engineered specifically to streamline workflows for musicians, composers, and producers working in heavy genres like metalcore, djent, and thall.
Avalanche Tones was founded by 17-year-old guitarist, songwriter, and studio producer Ava Toton. Having written and self-produced music since age 11 (both solo and with her band, Cataclysmic), Toton designed Chainsaw Suite out of a practical need to work smarter in the studio. Frustrated by traditional digital modeling software that requires extensive tweaking to sit correctly in a heavy mix, she hand-coded a solution that strips the raw, aggressive character of iconic chainsaw pedals down into individual, highly flexible components.
“I wanted to build tools that help musicians get straight to a great sound without getting bogged down in menus,” says Toton, founder of Avalanche Tones. “Chainsaw Suite is about giving producers total control over their signal chain so they can focus on writing and creating rather than fighting their software.”
Chainsaw Suite features a flexible workspace where users can select from 20 distinct modules including: 9 distortions/overdrives/fuzzes, 3 EQs, 2 pedal tone shapers, an octaver, and a bitcrusher. Users can stack up to 10 of them simultaneously in any order.
To meet the demands of modern low-tuned music, the plugin allows users to split their signal and blend two parallel lanes, maintaining low-end punch and mid-range clarity. The suite also integrates native support for up to two Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) capture loader modules at once, alongside full DAW automation for automated mix adjustments.
Moving forward, Avalanche Tones will continue to develop focused, utility-driven software tools, with upcoming music from Toton and Cataclysmic serving as direct real-world testing grounds and showcases for future releases.
Chainsaw Suite for Windows and macOS (VST3 and AU) is available to purchase for $39.99 USD. A fully functional 7-day free trial is available to try the plugin.
