Best Service has announced the release of the Engine Player-powered version of Qanun, a virtual instrument featuring the sounds of the characteristic plucked instrument from the Orient.
The Qanun is one of the central instruments of Oriental music – featuring a clear, distinctive tone that instantly creates atmosphere. The Syrian multi-instrumentalist Bassam Ayoub now brings this sound into the virtual world as a library. Building on his work on libraries such as “Arabic Oud” and “Arabic E-Oud,” he has recreated the instrument in a highly detailed and playable way.
The library for the Engine Player features a modern, clean interface and a direct workflow. Articulations are split into “performed” and “playable”, complemented by integrated Microtunings for authentic scales and tonal colors. In short: an expressive, instantly playable Qanun focused on natural feel and flexibility.
Qanun features
- 22 articulations.
- Multiple velocity layers.
- Up to 16 round robins.
- Integrated microtunings.
- All essential timbres included.
Available for the free Engine Player version 1.5.2 or higher (VST3, AU and AAX), Qanun is on sale for the intro price of €69 EUR until May 4th, 2026 (regular €99 EUR). Existing Qanun users can download the update via their Best Service customer account.
Registered users of Arabic Oud or Arabic E-Oud can get the crossgrade for only €49 EUR during the promotion (regular €69 EUR). All customers also receive the Khashkash from the Arabic Percussion Collection by Bassam Ayoub for free.
